Episode 26 Finale - A Second Attempt

"My, my, is that little Yumi Phantomhive, I see?" a dark voice said as Sebastian carried me down the hall.

Sebastian slowed to a stop as I gazed over hazily, lashes lowering when I saw Edward standing against a wall, hands in his pockets.

"Excuse me, but I must go down that way. If you don't mind moving, that would be much appreciated, indeed," Sebastian said too kindly.

Edward just smiled as he gazed down at me. "Don't you think you're getting a little to attached to him? He's the root cause of your demise, isn't he?"

"Your manipulation tactics don't work on me," I said then, lashes lowering. "Don't try it. I'm not signing with you, period. Especially knowing that you're a murderer. Serial, if that, and killed all these people just out of fun."

Edward smiled a little, chuckling as he closed his eyes. "You must think highly of me, indeed. I am only a sightseer, I promise you that."

I gritted my teeth, hearing them crack at the motion. "Bullshit."

He gazed up then. "Believe what you want. This isn't my problem, after all."

"Stop your testing," I snapped then, glaring sharply. "I'm not signing with a lowly demon such as yourself. I have standards."

Edward smiled, red eyes glowing dangerously. "Oh, so confident. That's what I love about you. Your blood was the appetizer, now I want the full meal."

Sebastian just smiled, eyes glowing in response. "You heard her. Now move out of the way."

Edward just closed his eyes and smiled, stepping aside as Sebastian moved past him, carrying me down the hall.

A minute later, we entered an empty bedroom, and Sebastian kicked the door closed behind him and carried me over to another mattress.

He laid me down onto it, and I grumbled in annoyance.

"This bed isn't comfy," I complained.

He just smiled. "You're going to have to deal, master. This is the only room where she won't suspect us."
