Episode 30 Continued - Slick like Mad Hatter
"Welcome, my lady," the man at the door said, "may I ask for your name?"
"Yuna," Yumi said then, picking up her skirts and bowing to him, "Yuma Claerita."
"Ah, Count Damien's precious guest. I am very lucky to speak to you, indeed. The pleasure it mine," the man said then, picking up my hand to lightly kiss it. He stood fully and gazed over at me, looking oddly calm despite the suspicious look I was giving him. "And you must be Lady Yuna's fiancé, erm... Edwardo, is it?"
"Edward," I corrected. "And yes, I am the lady's fiancé."
Yumi didn't look particularly amused, but I wasn't sure I cared.
"Who are these four?" he said then, looking at my servants.
"They're my cleaners," Yumi said, telling the truth this time, "they're here because they begged me so."
That was true, wasn't it?
Master, please, can we come? Please?! PLEASE?
We won't break anything, we promise!
And no explosions unless you tell me otherwise!
The man then stepped aside, letting us in the house. "The pleasure is all mine."
We all entered then, the four servants behind us following close, as well.
"Whoa," Maddox said, gazing up as his eyes shot around the room.
He watched the golden ceilings, the light, bright area with red rugs and the spiral staircase spiraling up to the top floor.
There were thousands of people in here, all talking and holding glasses of wine and champagne. Some had rabbit ears on like Yumi and I-some wore some disgusting, stupid hat to represent Mad Hatter-and others dressed as mice, turtles, and an occasional Queen of Hearts.
Yumi just continued in further into the house, and I followed.
"This is a large manor, indeed," I said then, glancing around before looking down at her. "Aren't you interested?"
