Episode 38 Finale - The Escape
"I was looking for you!" Claudia said as we pushed open the bedroom door.
I immediately shrank behind the wall, holding myself into the shadows.
Scarlet gazed over at her then, eyes glistening. "Oh! Sorry... I was getting ready to leave, is all."
"Why?" Claudia said then, voice dark as if sad.
"Well... it's a dark night and I keep bothering you," Scarlet responded kindly. "I hate being a bother."
Claudia shook her head heavily. "Nonsense! Don't say such things!" She gazed up then. "You would never be a bother! It's still pouring out there. Stay! Stay until morning, at least."
"If you insist." Scarlet bowed her head, acting apologetic. "I am sorry for disturbing your sleep."
Claudia just shook her head again. "Never apologize for such things! But you need your sleep, trust me on this. Please, Scarlet. Get some rest, alright? All this worrying isn't good for you."
Scarlet bowed again. "Yes, ma'am."
She then turned and opened the bedroom door, entering the room seconds later.
When I heard Claudia's footsteps tap away, I slipped in the room behind her.
Scarlet closed the door behind me then, eyes going back to their darkened sternness. "We must go, correct?"
I nodded.
She then opened the bedroom window, blasting rain into the room.
I stepped over to it, immediately jumping onto the sill and throwing myself into the night. I clutched the suitcase and master's eye patch tightly, holding them close to me.
I felt Scarlet follow after me.
We landed silently onto the forest ground and dashed into the woods.
*****
We were far into the forest now, continuously running with no desire to look back.
I clutched the suitcase in my hand tightly, holding master's eye patch in the other.
