Reyaansh's pov :-
The haldi function of Kartik and Naina was a blast and my Aahana was looking ethereal in her traditional attire with her hair braided and flowers adorning her long hair.
It was a perfect evening until Abhimaan barged in like that. I still don't understand what he's trying to do but it has something to do with Kiara. The moment he stepped in, the atmosphere changed, a heavy tension filling the air. Kiara, who had been laughing with friends, immediately stiffened, her eyes narrowing at Abhimaan. There was history there, something dark and unresolved.
But I was worried about a completely different topic and that is Dhruv Chauhan. I wanted to get rid of this bastard but clearly destiny has other plans. Naina is his sister which means she is the daughter of Advik Chauhan, though they are poles apart. She is nothing like her brother or father and I hate to put her through situations which would break her heart.
Advik Chauhan didn't even care to attend his daughter's haldi ceremony and I even doubt that he knows what goes on in his daughter's life because she is of a completely different nature. Only Dhruv was here but for a short period of time not letting Aahana or any other family members spot him but he forgot that he cannot escape the eyes of an eagle.
I followed his path trying to keep a close check on him. Dhruv doesn't do anything without any purpose and him being here means that he surely had motives. But to my utter surprise I found him leaving the venue after a while and my suspicions shot up.
"He's definitely up to something." I murmured to myself.
"Who?" A deep voice came from behind me and it doesn't take a genius to know that it belongs to Abhimaan. Bastard is blessed with the most attractive voice.
"None of your business." I shrugged.
"Oh come on bestfriend! We both know something is bothering you." He nudged. The word 'Bestfriend' brought back many memories and flashbacks and the remnants of that fateful day when we had our last conversation. We both know it wasn't our fault that situations turned to be against us so we don't have any grudges against each other.
I contemplated for a while before turning to face him "It's Dhruv Chauhan."
His eyes darkened. "What about him?" His voice came in a low growl.
Dhruv and Advik is a part of our rival mafia gang and had been a thorn in our side for years. The mention of their name was enough to spark a fire in my Abhimaan's eyes.
"He was here, at the haldi ceremony" I continued, my voice low. "I don't know what he's planning, but I know it can't be good."
Abhimaan's expression turned grim, his jaw clenched in anger. "I'll take care of it" he said, his voice firm.
"We'll take care of it." I corrected him.
His gaze fell on me, something flickered in his eyes but he was quick enough to mask it.
"Yeah we will." He nodded, a small smile playing on his lips, but I could sense a hint of tension beneath the surface.
"Well what's up with you two?" I gestured towards Kiara because clearly there's something which they are hiding from me.
"Nothing. Just teaching her some manners." He shrugged nonchalantly.
I glared at him. "You realize its my sister you are talking about, Abhimaan?"
"Ohh absolutely." He winked. "Don't worry. She's in safe hands."
With that he walked away leaving me seething with frustration and concern. What was Abhimaan hiding? And what did he mean by "teaching her some manners"? I knew my sister Kiara, and she wouldn't take kindly to being talked down to or manipulated. I made a mental note to have a word with her, to find out what was really going on.
