Chapter 35:

Layah's POV:

I walked back into the house tying to figure out a way I was going to tell Luke about what just happened. How was I going to tell him we were going to war with a maniac I barely knew jeopardized my pack and mates life who wanted me but since he couldn't have me he got angry? Yeah, a mouthful . I know. His wasn't going to be easy .

I tried walking up to my room and past Luke's door until he called me into his room to talk to me. I walked into his room and shut the door.

"Y-Yes?" I stuttered trying to plaster on a fake smile.

"Why are you stuttering?" He said raising an eyebrow and smirking

"Psh n-no I'm not "

"Yes you are you just did it again"

"What are you talking about?" I asked faking confusion

"What are you hiding from me?" He asked stepping closer away from his bed.

"I'm not hiding a-anything"

"Yes you are . I know you're lying because you stutter and when you walked in the house I smelt the nervousness coming off of you"

"Ok I have something on my mind but its nothing" I said darting my eyes from side to side. I'm a horrible liar!

"You can tell me willingly or I can just read your mind" he asked smirking

"You can't read my mind you don't have that ability"I object

"Ha yes I do I just haven't told you. I'm an alpha Sweety I can do a lot of things"

I was speechless

"Ok fine min reading it is"

I felt a pressure in my head. It got worse until I relaxed , I guess opening my mind. I saw his face concentrating and them contorted to confusion , then rage , then sadness. He looked at me looking hurt.

"How could you not tell me this?" He said hurt

"I was trying to find a way without causing me and you to freak out and me to freak out also." I said looking down sort of ashamed

"You could have just told me." He said lifting my chin up gently with his finger. The sparks from the contact made me shiver slightly.

"We have to tell the pack" he said . He looked like he was concentrating again . Mind link . I'm guessing he was calling a pack meeting . And my guesses were confirmed when he pulled me down the stairs in front of the entire pack.

"This will be quick . I was just notified that this pack might be in danger. Due to vigorous training and fighting increasing we won't have much to worry about. In a month we will be going into battle with something that can either make or break us. There is no need to e scared . From now on I want everyone to be on alert lets try to keep the children inside mostly and I want border patrol . Shifts will be switched out. Please alert me or my beta" he said gesturing to his right " know if anything seen or heard out of the ordinary .Training will continue to be taught by Jace , Jaxon , K.C , and Alpha Layah ; our reinforcements . Let me know anything out of the ordinary and follow my rules for your own safety. Is that understood?" He spoke sternly

"Yes alpha" they all answered in unison

Boy he was pissed, and It's all my fault. He told me to follow him back to his room and even though I kept my head down the whole time. We walked back into his room and l shut the door. I kept my head down and sat on his bed while he paced the floor.

"Layah stop thinking its your fault" he spoke softly

"Hey! No reading thoughts without permission!"

"I didn't have to read your thoughts to tell you feel guilty I can tell by your actions"

"It is my fault and I'm gonna settle it" I spoke sternly

"Not by yourself your not I'm gonna help . Your problem is mine"

"Well I already have a solution" I said getting up off of the bed

"Don't do anything crazy Layah. This pack is gonna help you" he replied

"You called me here for reinforcements I didn't call you" I said getting agitated

"Your not gonna do anything I don't tell you Layah and that's an order " he replied yet again very sternly .

"Who do you think you are telling me what I can and cant do. It's my problem and a month from now in gonna solve it just me and Nemis like he wanted that SOB wanted a fight then that's what he's gonna get" I said angrily

"Your not doing anything I don't tell you to and as your alpha that's an order" he yelled

"Did you or did you not forget I'm an alpha too and your no alpha o mine" I yelled and with that I walked out of his room and into mine and slammed the door. I couldn't help the look of hurt on his face when I said that last part. I'm sorry he made me angry and I say some pretty mean stuff when I get angry. I got that from the guys.

I quickly took a shower because the time currently was now 9:30 . Wow how much time did I waste today. I knew I would have to apologize later but for now sleep was about to be my best friend. I turned on my television and flipped on a channel and drifted off into yet another peaceful sleep...
