Taehyung woke up slowly, his heart swelling with a sense of unparalleled happiness. For the first time, he was lying next to Ria, her warmth and softness pressing against him.
With a contented sigh, Taehyung instinctively buried his face in her hair, the familiar softness and scent comforting him. He had always wanted to feel this closeness, to lose himself in the sensation of her hair against his cheek. The initial joy of the morning enveloped him, making him savor every second.
But as he snuggled deeper into her hair, a new, foreign scent began to intrude on his senses. At first, it was faint, barely noticeable, but as he breathed in deeper, it became unmistakable. It was Jungkook's scent, a reminder that shouldn't belong on the woman he considered his alone.
Taehyung's initial happiness curdled into a cold, dark anger. The scent was like a violation, an unwelcome reminder that someone else had been close to what was his. The more he breathed in, the more the anger grew, burning with a fierce intensity.
*How dare he leave a trace of himself on her?* Taehyung's mind raced, his thoughts becoming a storm of possessiveness and rage. *How dare someone else think they have any claim to her?* The realization that Jungkook's scent had mingled with Ria's was unbearable. The idea of another person being close to her, even in the slightest way, ignited a primal fury within him.
Taehyung tried to remind himself that they had been lying close earlier, that it was innocent, but the logic didn't soothe the fire burning inside him. The thought of Jungkook's presence clinging to Ria was a splinter under his skin, a constant, irritating reminder that there was something more between them, something that didn't involve him.
But as Ria shifted in his arms, turning to face him and burrowing into his embrace, his heart softened-just slightly. Her eyes were closed, her breathing even and calm, and for a moment, he could almost forget the scent. He could almost convince himself that it was nothing. She was his, after all. And he would never, ever allow anyone to come between them.
With that possessive resolve, he kissed her forehead, a silent promise to protect what was his. But even as he did, the anger still simmered beneath the surface, a storm waiting for the right moment to break.
Quietly, Taehyung slipped out of bed and headed to the kitchen, needing something-anything-to distract himself. As he passed by the living room, he saw Jungkook still asleep on the couch. The sight made him pause, his eyes narrowing as he noticed the tear stains on Jungkook's cheeks. Taehyung's first instinct was concern, wondering what could have caused Jungkook such pain, but it was quickly overshadowed by a darker emotion. *Was it guilt?* Taehyung wondered, *or something else?* The idea that Jungkook might be suffering over something connected to Ria only fueled his possessiveness.
Shaking off the thoughts, Taehyung forced himself to focus on making breakfast. The kitchen was soon filled with the sound of sizzling bacon, the routine movements offering a small comfort, though the tension in his chest didn't ease.
The smell of food eventually woke Jungkook, who stirred and sat up, blinking away the remnants of sleep. "Good morning, Tae," he greeted, his voice still thick with sleep.
Taehyung turned, managing a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "Morning, Jungkookie. Sleep well?"
Jungkook nodded, though his smile faltered under Taehyung's gaze. "Yeah... I guess."
Taehyung's eyes flicked briefly to the tear stains on Jungkook's cheeks, his own emotions twisting into something dark and unrecognizable. But he kept his voice light, masking the turmoil inside. "I'm making breakfast for Ria. You should freshen up and join us."
Jungkook hesitated, the weight of the previous night pressing down on him. The memory of Ria, her touch, her warmth, flooded back, filling him with both longing and regret. But he forced himself to nod, offering a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "Yeah, I'll do that."
