MINJI and jihye sit together at lunch, minji blissfully blabbering on about her day out with gyuvin yesterday as jihye bites her lip, blood trickling into her mouth. she winces at the metallic taste, as minji tilts her head. "hey. you okay?"
"im so sorry." jihye sighs, slumping.
minji looks even more confused, as she moves closer to her best friend, putting a reassuring hand around her shoulder. yunah's at the cafeteria with her other friend group, and she suspects this would probably be a better conversation to have without her. "jihye..? come on, talk to me."
"i saw minjun's shirt in your locker." she blurts out. she already put it back into minji's locker this morning.
minji's face contorts to a mixture of confusion and fear, as she speaks up. "i was gonna tell you. ..but, how comes you were in my locker?"
"im gonna be honest with you. like, 100% honest. jungwon and I.. we're working on minjun's disappearance. it's a long story, but we just found out we were both.. well, looking into it, and well, i suspected arin, so we talked to her, and then- then jungwon suspected you, and i got angry, but he told me that you were acting off, and i felt so, so bad, but i lowkey could see it, and i just wanted to talk to you about it, but he told me to have a look in your locker instead, and-"
"woah, woah. breathe. so, jungwon made you?"
jihye sighs. "no... no, he didn't. i did it on my own account in the end."
"..because you didn't want to disappoint him."
"no, its not like that. it's just.. uhm.. he seemed so confident, and he never seems like that, so i just thought listening to him might.. i don't know, boost him up or something. im so sorry."
minji laughs. "you're unbelievable."
"you're.. not mad?"
"i mean, im a little hurt, but i know you trust me, either way. you're mad, as in, you did that for jungwon?"
"wha- no! i did it for the investigation!"
"the.. what..?"
" me and jungwon. we're finding out what happened to minjun."
minji frowns. "but are you going to be safe?"
jihye pauses, and pulls the girl into a crashing hug, as minji hugs her back, patting her head comfortingly.
