A tragedy

I was just a small pup living with my family. We were strays but some people around Adventure Bay helped us giving us food or water in many occasions. Me my mother and father were one day put up to shelter. Finally we could be somewhere safe. But little me was worried about being somewhere near humans. From my very first moments i had an eery feeling about people that just kept me away from them. "Come on Skye, it is okay these people will help us out and we will find a home" "Your mother is right no need to worry" i listened to my parents. "But mom, dad, can we really trust them? How do we know that nothing is going to happen? How do we know that if someone takes us nothing will happen?" i said as i was very nervous and overthinking everything, every possible scenario. "My dear, we are here. Nothing is going to happen to you or any of us. We finally have a place to stay temporarily. After all people out there have helped us to survive. It will all be all right Skye. Trust me." my father said. To be honest i always had a soft spot for him. He always tries to calm me down and make everything in my mind a bit more easy going. "Yeah you are right. Sorry for worrying so much." i said as we headed to our cage. It seemed pretty comfortable for 3 dogs if we consider the fact that i am just a pup. "Alright doggies, you will stay there until someone chooses to have all of you. We don't want to split up the family." said the lady. She seemed pretty happy and liking her job here in the shelter. I don't blame her there are a lot of kind of animals here, it is indeed very exciting. "So all of you before we head to sleep let's do a family hug." said my mother. This is something we always do before heading to sleep. So that everyone feels safe and no-one will be left behind. "Good night mom and dad." "Good night Skye" said my parents simultaneously. After that i felt i had nothing to be worried about anymore.

Suddenly something interrupted my sleep. I was hearing barks and hissing all around the place until i saw everything Everything around me was in flames. I got up fast and started shouting. "Mom, dad wake up now! We have to leave!" My parents got up and were as shocked as me. "Get back now!" said my father as he tried to brake down the cage to escape. After a some tries he did it. "Let's help some of them! Whoever we can!" my mother said. "No we have to leave now!" my father argued but my mother didn't listen to him. She acted fast and saved some of them. But the roof started to fall down. "RUN!" my father shouted. We run as fast as we could. I was the youngest of all so i run a bit faster than my parents when suddenly i felt a bump behind me. I felt two paws. The paws of my parents. I watched behind me and parts of the roof were blocking their way. They saved my life. "MOM, DAD, NO!" "Skye don't worry! You have to go outside now! Before it's too late! We love you!" my parents said and as i was crying i run out of the shelter. I took a last look behind and everything collapsed. I was shocked. Scared. Everything that i had collapsed right in front of my own two eyes. I am completely alone. My parents died in the worst possible way. I will never feel their touch, their love, their support, everything that they had ever done for me. I fell to the ground and started crying and shouting for help even though hope was all lost. "Hey a dog is still alive!" i heard someone saying nearby. I moved my head to see who said that and i saw a human. A human did all this. I was desperate of death, revenge but i was scared of them all. I don't want something to happen to me. Not so early. He was approaching me but i was too scared to move. I closed my eyes out of fear. I was waiting for the worst. But something or someone came "Not on my watch!" i heard a young voice but full of hatred and nerves. I also heard screaming but i will hope it was from the human. I opened my eyes but i was exhausted. "No no no don't fall!" i heard the voice again. I opened my eyes and caught a glimpse of another pup, around my age but it was then the moment i felt my self giving in. Please, mother, father, save me.
