Recovery

I am lying somewhere near a fireplace. I can remember my self falling. The wind was very unstable and I didn't have the strength to keep my self up or even in control. I fell and I injured my self but I had to complete the mission. The moment I saw the pups I tried to call Ryder but I had lost my pup tag. I didn't have the strength to keep my self up and I gave in to exhaustion and my injury. But now I am somewhere else.
I got up slowly as to not burder my leg. "Where am I?" I said and the first think I saw was Chase right beside me. "Did he save me? Is he okay?" that were the first thoughts I had but I was right. He really did come save me I could sense my scent all over him. And he is probably very exhausted. Chase why did you put your self in danger? Was it just for me? I looked around me and I could see Marshall with another pup beside him and another one nearby. The had completed the mission. Not only Chase rescued me but they also found the other pups. Why? Why did I have to end up like this?
I tried getting up when suddenly I felt Ryder's arms around me. "Skye I am so sorry! I will never ever make you fly with that weather in such conditions. Are you alright now?" "Don't worry Ryder. My leg just feels very weak. I am more worried about Chase. What happened?" "The moment he heard that you were missing he run off and tried to find you. He fought well and not only did he found you but found the others too. Then Marshall probably found him and they took all of you. Chase had you and the bulldog on his back and when they finally reached us they fainted. He was very worried about and said that he won't ever leave you behind. Give him time to rest. He needs it." "Okay Ryder, I will." he really did came for me. Why did he had to put his life in danger? I hope he's okay. With that thought I went beside him once again and put my self on him. My head on his chest and me being cuddled up in his arms. I didn't want to leave him. I was afraid. But at the same moment happy and relieved.
As I did that I noticed that the pups that have been missing woke up and went straight to Ryder and Jake to say sorry and everything. I could only catch their names and some sentences. The bulldog's name is Rubble and the Husky's one is Everest. I could hear it was a female whose talking. I heard their footsteps. "We are very sorry for what happened. I hope you recover well and we owe you a lot. Thank you." "It's okay guys. We are just doing our job." they went back again and talked with Ryder. Maybe they want to do something to repay their "mess". I don't blame them with that weather anyone could find himself missing. Right now I am more worried about Chase.
Half an hour passed and still nothing. He is sleeping heavily. Suddenly I saw Marshall waking and coming my way. "Are you alright Skye?" "Yeah I am. Just a leg injury." "You know. He really cares about you. He didn't listen to anyone and didn't give a damn about the conditions. He was determined to find you. He said he promised to never leave you. You really are important to him. Even when he was in a bad condition he still talked about you." Marshall said and then left going slowly towards Ryder. When he said that I could stare at him in shock. He went all out for me. I turned my face into Chase and I started to cry silently so I couldn't be heard. "I love you Chase." I said whispering. He was out cold, he could not hear me. Yes that's what I feel about him. Now I can see. From the moment we met he has always been there for me doing his best and protecting me. Giving me a home, having new friends someone to call my own it is all thanks to him. And he never broke his promise. He is a pup of his words. He went all out putting his self in danger just for me. All that nice talking and craving for his attention where just minor feelings that I could not understand but now I do. And I want more. Even more of him. He is important to me and I want him in my life for forever. I will treat my injury and then I will treat him. I won't rush things. I will love him for afar. And someday he will understand too. Something will happen and he will see too. Thank you for being in my life Chase. I am grateful.

And when I was thinking of all these, I put my face deep inside his fuzzy warm chest and cried. I cried my self till I fell asleep. But I fell asleep between the paws that saved me and keep on saving me everyday.
