Meant To Be ( A Chase x Skye Story)

There is no way, right?

It has been some months since i had the conversation about Skye with the boys. It kind of still bothers me. It's just that things with Skye have been kind of awkward lately. I need to talk to Ryder.
Luckily for me Ryder has just returned from a mission with Zuma and Marshall. "Ryder sorry for bothering you but can we talk?" "Of course Chase, what's bothering you?" "Before I tell you, can we please go inside? I don't want anyone to intervene." he nodded and we went inside. Feeling nervous though. He is Ryder man he will understand. "Well Ryder, some months ago I had a personal conversation with the other guys. And it was about Skye. They asked me if anything is going with me and her because lately we have been closer and closer but now things are a bit awkward. All in all they think that maybe me or Skye or both like eachother and i cannot understand this. Yes we are very close but I think we act naturally. I just wanted your help." I finished my sentence and he smiled. He always does that, but this time it was different. "Chase, i understand what you are trying to say. There is no need for you to worry or rush anything. Eventually you will understand. Be calm and act like you always do and everything will come out naturally. Okay?" I think he was right. I put a lot of thought into it. I just have to be myself. "Okay Ryder, thanks for your help." I said while giving him a smile and going back outside.
"Hey Chase, did something happen?" Skye approached me. I stayed calm. "Yeah nothing to worry about Skye. Just wanted to ask him something." "Okay, just wanted to make sure!" she said while opening her eyes excitedly. I have to say that I never get bored staring at those sparkling magenta eyes of her. They are unique. "Well is there anything you want to do? I mean Marshall and Zuma are probably tired and Rocky is with them so it's just you and me." These words "you and me" came out kinda heavy. Felt a tingle around my body. "Well we can go sit under that tree over there. I am not into much playing plus it has a very nice breeze. Not that warm, not that cold." "Alright then whatever you want!" and so did we. It wasn't that far from us. A cherry tree. It was a nice spot to observe the sea and watch the sunset. "We were hanging out at that tree a lot when we first came here, remember?" I told her "Yeah that's why I mostly told you to sit here. Just memories overflowing your mind." she sounded a bit sad while saying that. "Is everything alright Skye?" "Yeah totally! It's just that when i sit here even though i have the happiest of moments, I just remember my time with my parents. At least what time i had left with them." "Skye I understand your pain. But right now you have lots of friends and somewhere where you belong. I bet you are grateful for that. And mostly you have me. I promised you I will protect you and never leave your side." "You are right Chase. You are great." she said as she leaned her head on my shoulder. I was caught off guard by that and i blushed a bit but tried to hide it. I mean it is a natural reaction of hers i don't blame her. Thinking of the past made me remember a lot. The time I saved her, our life in the beach just surviving but having fun, until Ryder came and brought us here despite our conflict. Things have changed a lot. I put a paw of mine on her head and started rubbing it. She made a mini squeak. A cute one. "Come on Chase stop that!" she said while laughing and then i turned her head watching mine just to see her reaction but i saw her smile, and then her eyes. I was just still observing her. I think it was the first time i took a good look of her. I noticed she was staring at me too.

Chase tried to tease me a bit just like the big dummy he is. I started laughing but then i felt my head turning and then i saw him. I think it was the first time I observed him from so close. His big brown eyes and pretty snout. His face just being front of me. I blushed hard and from the fact he was staring at me too made me blush harder. What is happening?

I started blushing out of nowhere. I cannot understand what is happening. I felt pumped but I tried to brake the ice. "Ehm, sorry. Let's forget about that heh." "Yeah you are right haha." she said while throwing a laugh. Kind of an awkward situation. "Wait do you smell that?" "What?" I sensed someone was spying on us. "Guys? If you are behind that bush I will chase you all day." I said while a scared Marshall popped out the bush. "We are sorry!" and then all of them started running. So goofy all three of them. "Haha Chase you don't have to scare them like that!" "It is funnier doing so." I said while throwing a chuckle. We left the cherry tree and I started to chase them. Mostly because I felt embarrassed.

Night fell and we all said our goodnights. I can't take my mind off of what happened tonight. But i will remember Ryder's advice. There is no way I like her right?
