Getting over it

It has been almost a week after everything that has happened. Me and Skye have gotten close since and we are pretty good friends. But i think it would be the best for her to go have a stroll around the city and leave the beach for a while. As always i woke up earlier and went to fetch breakfast. "Good morning Skye time for breakfast!" "Already Chase? Give me five more minutes please pretty please!" "Come on Skye we don't have the whole day!" "Alright fine. Good morning Chase!" she finally got up and got into eating. "Hey, Skye can i ask you something?" "Of course what is it?" "Well, i was wondering if you would like to have a walk around town. I mean a week has passed over the accident. It may be time to go out and leave the beach."

As i heard what Chase said i felt a little tremble but i knew i had to overcome my fears. I have to repay him after everything. "Okay Chase i think i am ready."

She agreed and i was pretty glad about it. I mean it is finally time. I know it is hard for her but it's for her own good. "Take your time. Don't rush i will wait for your signal."

Some time has passed and i was finally ready. "Hey Chase i think it is time." "Alright Skye, don't be afraid i will be just right by your side." only hearing this made me feel more relaxed.
We took some steps up and we saw the pavement. My heart started beating fast but i knew i had to overcome it. Chase bumped me and he game me a nod. He trusts me i can see it. So i took the first step and walked beside him. Cars going on their way, children playing in the park and the sandbox, mister Porter's place busy as usual, beautiful trees and laughter everywhere. Everything was just as it was. "It is not that bad right?" Chase said "Yeah it isn't. Everything is as it was and everyone has moved on." as i said it, I took a glimpse of the old shelter. They have made a memorial for all the lost animals. Still, i was very afraid of human interaction after what happened. "Do you maybe want to walk a little further? See the rest of the town?" "Yeah i would like to. Thanks Chase. I think it was a good idea."
After a lot of walking a young child saw us and started approaching us. I took some steps back out of fear. I don't know why it just came naturally. "Hey you naughty girl come here! Sorry pups she just loves dogs so much!" "It's alright my lady!" Chase formally said. He is so confident.

I took a look at Skye and her reaction to the young girl approaching her. I took the case on my own manners to help her. "Hey Skye is everything okay?" "Yeah i think so. It just seems i cannot get over the trauma of people yet. But i will try my best i promise!" i heard her voice breaking a bit and i got worried "Hey you don't have to rush it. I know that you got over the fear of walking through the city and i can understand your trauma. If anything like that ever happens again i will the case on my own manners don't worry." "Thank you Chase it means a lot. And Sorry." "Don't be. Anything for a friend. Hey the sun is setting do you want to go the jetty?" "Yeah i would love to. It is closer to the beach after all hehe."

We walked and sat onto the wooden jetty. You could smell the salty summer breeze and feel the splashing waves on your paws. "Thank you Chase once again. For being there for me and making me to overcome my fears. I really owe you one." "Skye for real it is nothing. I just thought it would be better for you. Life goes and so do we. Anything can go wrong but always there is a way to overcome it. Life is a precious gift and we have to survive. Overcome our fears and getting over the bad things of the past and being grateful for the present and future. I am here for you. Don't worry about anything." as i heard these words i felt a comfort in my heart. I knew i had found someone that i can trust. It is such a same he was all alone that time and he has that thinking about life. I won't leave him. "Hey Skye look at the sky! Not your face but you know what i mean!" "Yeah silly i know!" i said laughing "After what you said about your love of the sky i think i understand now. You really do feel free and also you can imagine anything!" "I know right? The most beautiful part of it are the stars. Overflowing of imagination!" we both laughed with eachother and we were just living the moment. Life with Chase is just very comfortable. He makes me feel comfortable and safe. Hope this will stay forever.

Night fell and as always we headed to sleep. "Thanks again Chase. Hope you aren't tired!" "Me? Tired? You make me laugh!" "Just asking you dummy! Goodnight Chase." "Goodnight Skye".
