New Friend

I was heavy asleep after the disaster that happened. Everything i knew and adored was gone before i knew it. On the other hand i was still conscious of my surroundings. I felt a paw on my chick and then me being lift up and being on someone's back. I hope it is not a human. I really want to believe it.
After a while i was finally left on the ground. I felt something soft upon me. Then i slowly opened my eyes. First thing i saw was sand. I was somewhere in a igloo type of place. It felt warm. But then i heard footsteps and i went behind to guard my self with whatever strength i had left. "You are awake! Oh thank goodness someone made it out alive!" I saw a male young German shepherd pup holding a bowl of water in his mouth. I took a good look of him because i was still afraid. "H-hey who are you? What am i doing here?" "Yeah, i am sorry. My name is Chase. I am a stray just like you. I heard of a big explosion nearby and when i saw that the shelter was on fire i rushed to help. I saw you made it out but then a human was going to attack you. I jumped onto him and started fighting him. I know my size doesn't make it up for it but i think i injured him just enough for us to escape. I took you on my back and got you here in my -home-" Chade said. I can't believe that he did all that risking everything he had just to save me. Not only me but he thought of others too. "I am Skye. I was put into the shelter with my family but everything collapsed. Now they are dead and i think i am the only one alive. Thank you for your help." i said but i fell to the ground as i was in pain. I was pretty injured and probably burned. "Hey don't push yourself much. Here have some water." i accepted it. "I know how you feel. I never had friends and my parents died when i was still young. I saw how scared you were and you reminded me of my self. I didn't want you to go so soon. I just felt i had to save you." Chase said. I was pretty shocked about it. He never had a family to call his own and he grew up alone yet he is so kind. "Look Chase i am greatly honoured for you saving me. And i am sorry for your past. Anything can change though." "What do you mean by that? All my life i was alone and probably when you will get better you will go away. I know you don't trust me i can see it in your eyes." "Chase calm down. I know what happened in the past and now is a disaster for both of us. But now all we have is us. We can be friends." I thank my father for making me an opened minded person. I know we just met. But he saved my life. And i can save his life for being his friend. No-one should be alone. "We will build our trust. And i thank you for taking care of me and being there in such a difficult moment. I am honoured for you being there or else i would be dead." I said as tears were flowing down my eyes. I was so scared and so anxious of me saying these things. Chase came towards me and hugged me. "Thank you Skye. Let's be a friends. And we will come through anything together" he said as i felt his tears on my head. He was a bit taller than me. "Hey are you crying?" i teases him. "No, it was just sand on my eyes!" he said. I chuckled a bit. Even in the worst moment i had a laugh. "It's getting pretty late. We should head to sleep." "You are right. I will take the left part." "Goodnight Skye" "Goodnight Chase" we both said to eachother

All of the things that happened where flowing into my head. I was moving all around the place and making noises out of fear. Then i felt something warm and fuzzy hugging me. It reminded me of the family hugs i was having with my parents. I opened my watery eyes and saw Chase giving me a big hug to calm me down. His sleepy face relaxed me. He feels so warm. Thank you Chase.
