It soon started showering and thundering with rain that eventful evening, by the time they had arrived back at the palace it was already pouring. Maximilian stepped down first, looking soiled and battered from trying to punch Roman, he looked like he just went on a 10 mile run. But he didn't. He quickly called over some guards to get an umbrella, and only one umbrella for the both of them.
"Wait in here Elizabeth until the Umbrella is here. I will escort you." He said with a slight edge at the end. No one else should escort her but him. He was already fuming with rage after he learnt that she had went on a little trip with Roman when he was gone, but falling in love with Roman too? That sent him over the edge, he wanted nothing more than to sever the head off of Roman and show her what he can do if she dares utter those words again. It was a pain against his ears, when she kept on saying that she loved, showed affection, for another man so deeply. He would have a deep deep talk with her today. And one day, get rid of Roman enough so that he won't be able to meet Elizabeth again.
The guards fetched an umbrella shortly after, following their emperor's words carefully. However they were still concerned about this. Why did the Emperor only ask for one umbrella, when he could simply order the guards to create a barrier enough to shield them from the rain as they walk to the entrance. They left without questioning anything nevertheless.
"Come on out now, I will hold the Umbrella for you." Maximillian held his hand out for Elizabeth to take, she was so preoccupied with looking out the window and away from him that it took her a second later to acknowledge his hand. With reluctance, she took it as she can't act stubborn around here. Maximillian smiled that she took his hand with no questions asked. "Good. I like this side to you." He ushers her forward, wrapping his arm around her shoulders, keeping her close to his side. "We have many things to talk about personally, lets get to that quickly shall we."
Elizabeth had not the slightest clue what he was doing, what he was trying to do, or anything. But she just knows that his body was shaking with an unimaginable temper so real, even his hand was shaking as they were around her. She could notice it, his strong formidable hands were now slightly tightening to the core.
When they arrived at their room, it was dark and dimply lit inside. They have been gone for a few days no, but Elizabeth preferred this better than a illuminated room where she can see his face and what expression he was making now. Her back was turned to him now, awaiting the barrage of questions and his rage that she would experience. She took a breath enough to calm her nerves.
"Elizabeth, you told me there was nothing going on between the two of you." He starts with a quiet menace. Elizabeth swallowed shortly before answering. "There wasn't anything before, now there is. I can't deny it anymore." She wondered where all these words would get her to, but looking at it doesn't seem like a good situation.
"It just happened like that? You both fell in love with each other, kept on meeting, got closer and closer until you confessed your feelings to each other, and then-" He remembered something just now.
"Did he really kiss you? Did he really dare touch you?!" He bellowed the last part, storming forward and turned her around to face him. Her frame shook from the shift in her balance and the rage being pointed towards her. What should she say?
"Yes he did. But it wasn't just him, I also kissed him back. I also wanted that. If you are angry your majesty, let's get a divorce as early as possible. It would work for the both of us since you finally learnt that Ludovika is still alive, and I realized that I love Roman. We can both be happy finally." Although Roman and her never kissed, he simply only kissed the tears streaking down her face, he never even tried touching her as much as yesterday.
