It has been a week since the hunting competition ended. And Elizabeth has been inquiring about Roman's health this entire week. Time to time. Day to night. As if he was her whole life.
I take a look at the letters that have arrived for me and carefully read them. One of them however caught my eye. This one was addressed to Elizabeth specifically.
I tore the letter open quickly and read through. It seemed to be from Roman. It read:
Hello My Empress,
How are you doing? It's been a week since the hunting competition. And I heard from many people that you took care of me well. Personally. Thank you for that. I am grateful that Empress cares about me much.
I am greatly blessed to be one of the people you care about. So I want to invite you to a little feast I have planned this weekend. Of course, if the Emperor can attend too please tell him to come too. I don't mind, he was my friend too. Thank you for everything, my Empress.
What the hell was this?! This feels like a love letter with his feelings clearly spilling through each and every single word. This was pure rubbish!
How dare he write something like this personally to my wife? My Empress? That word is something only I can say because she is mine. How can he say that with his own mouth? I would rip it off if it was anyone else.
I crumple the letter in my hand and press a hand to my head. This was absolutely rubbish. I ring the bell for my butler and he comes storming in.
"Please call for my Empress. I want to speak to her." I inform him and he goes on his way to get her.
After a few moments of waiting, I heard her footsteps and particularly her voice before she enters through the door. Her dark red hair popping in first before herself. Her hair was very unique of course to this empire. While everyone had such straight hair that was bright, hers was dark and slightly curly near the ends. It was new.
"Greetings to the sun of the Kaisenarck Empire." She greets me first with a bow and I give her an accepting nod, quickly getting to business.
"Your beloved Roman had wrote a letter for you," and before I can speak the rest of the words she's rushing to grab the letter from my hands. And she does. She reads through the entire content of the letter with worried eyes. Why was she so worried? She grabbed the letter as if she's been waiting for it all her life, with desperation.
I clear my throat. "Anyways, as you have read, would you like to go?" I ask her.
"Yes I would like to go. Would your Highness like to come with me on that day?" She asks. Her hands carefully clutch the letter in her hands with the utmost care. She was going to keep it with her forever.
My hands curl into a clenched fist as I look to stare down at my desk. "Yes, I will be coming. But just a little late as I have something to take care of on that day." I have found a lead on who attacked Roman. Someone from the neighboring kingdom. But I still don't know why still. I have to search for more.
