Today was the day when the crown prince will be coming back, with his large force. She was on her carriage, holding her bouquet that she spent all night making together with the help of Lily, and the carriage was headed towards the city center.
She was super nervous, as this would be her first time in 2 months seeing him. That was quite a long time without seeing him.
Even in the future. Elizabeth was lost in her own thought, when the carriage came to an abrupt stop and pushed her forward, making her fall. She looked out of the window, pushing the curtains aside. "Lily can you please go check what happened outside." She asked her maid, even if she pushed the curtains aside she can't see anything still. Lily gets out and comes back a little later. "Lady, it seems there's a problem with the carriage. The driver says it's broken." Elizabeth can only feel discontent at the news, but she can't blame anyone so she only sighs.
"Let's quickly go find our self another carriage. We can't be late, my father will kill me." She says, jumping off the carriage immediately and telling the driver to go get it fixed if he can and take it back to the mansion. The day didn't have to start that way, it felt like a bad omen to Elizabeth. She was so lost in thought, that she accidentally, and disgracefully bumped into a stranger on the way to find a new carriage.
"I'm so sorry, sir." She quickly apologizes, ready to go on her way, not even taking a look at who she bumped into. But then the man speaks. "Lady Elizabeth?" Now she looks at the man before her, and he feels familiar. Like she's seen him somewhere before. But where?
"Yes, do you know me?" She asks. The man moves forward, acting like he's known her all his life. "Of course I know you princess. I'm prince Soren. How can you not know the face of the man you asked to meet up with tomorrow?" She gasps feeling so embarrassed, remembering who he is. "Oh my lord, your highness, I'm so sorry. I knew that I had seen you from somewhere but I just couldn't figure it out. Of course I know, your highness." She quickly bows, showing her respect. "But what are you doing here today? I thought we were meeting tomorrow?"
The prince chuckles, hesitant to say something. "I wanted to meet you earlier. I couldn't contain my excitement so I just came here without thinking. I don't know why I did that." He says, avoiding to look at her, and it's so cute because he's blushing at the same time. He almost looks like a puppy.
"I see. I feel like I'm being a bad guest calling you over here and I didn't even prepare any accommodations for you." But the prince wouldn't agree with that. "No, lady Elizabeth, it was completely my fault for coming here unannounced and wishing for you to greet me properly. I mean look at this, we met somewhere else than we were originally supposed to meet." Elizabeth nods, agreeing with his point. The prince notices her elegant dress today, his eyes roaming over her and taking inventory of her.
"You seem to be going somewhere though. Might I trouble you to tell me where you're going?" He asks.
"Oh, that, my carriage just broke down on the way to the center. Todays the day where the Crown prince is returning from war, and so I have to go there, you know." Elizabeth explains.
"Oh my, your carriage broke down. That's terrible. If you don't mind, can I take you there instead? Instead of tomorrow, it could just be like this is our first meeting. We could get to know each today. Of course we'll still meet tomorrow too. I would love to know more about the princess." He speaks so respectfully, Elizabeth couldn't say no to it.
