It was the day of the Emperors birthday, a national holiday for everyone in the empire. But Elizabeth wasn't that excited for it. She felt somewhat scared of what might happen to her, and what Ludovika might do. Ludovika may not be a bad person, but something irks Elizabeth about her.

"Your Majesty, I will be right back after bringing all the jewelry. I must've stored it somewhere else." The maid that was fixing my dress said. She already had the dress on, just needed to put some jewelry and accessories on to finish the look.

Elizabeth looked at herself in the mirror, almost in awe of how she looks. But she can't seem to find anymore confidence in her appearance, because no matter how hard she tries Ludovika will be prettier. Much more wanted. Elizabeth sometimes wondered if she was not pretty enough to be liked by.

"Hello, my Empress." A voice brushes against her ear, breath touching the skin of her neck gently like. Warm blanket. She could feel the heat of his eyes, making her aware of what she does. Maximillian stood behind her, bent down to her ear.

"Your Highness. Why are you here? You're supposed to be waiting downstairs for the guests. I'm not ready yet to be seen."  She says, watching his expression in the mirror, he almost looks enamored by her mere self standing before him. He just watches her with careful eyes, and a stupid strange smile built upon his face.

"There's nothing wrong to see you even if you aren't ready. And there's no one that can stop me even if I wasn't the emperor. You're my wife. My wife." He breathes. He moves away from her ear, giving her rebirth and exhalation again. She could finally breathe without being restricted.

"Let me take a good look at you. I only saw you through the mirror until now." He says, a peculiar softness in his tone, taking her hand and slowly turning her around for him to glimpse at. Elizabeth watches as his gaze flicks across the entirety of her, taking in her dress, bare face. She feels almost naked before him.

She wants nothing more than for him to release her hand that he almost holds tenderly. And releases his gaze that looks like he's seen something breathtaking, he would want to capture it within his eyes and keep it with him forever. Elizabeth takes a breath, flitting her eyes away from him.

"You look beautiful Elizabeth. The mere sight of you, I want to look at you forever." He says, and slowly moves closer. Approaching her cautiously like he doesn't want the image in front of him to be lost. But Elizabeth wasn't fazed a little by his words. Just a slight quickening of her heart, that was beating wildly in her chest. She asked her mind why it was, but even it couldn't tell why.

"Your Majesty, you're getting late. It would be rude to our guest that was brought in to not be escorted. You may escort her or someone else may, it doesn't matter. But we have to make sure she doesn't feel out of place or alone." Elizabeth says, sighing heavily. Getting what she wanted off her chest. But there was a soft warmth touching her cheek, caressing the soft planes and easing them, making her look up at the man in front of her.
