After you had retrieved your things, Yoriichi and you began on a short journey.
He wasted no time asking you a question, "Tell me (Y/N), what is it you like?"
You looked at him with confused eyes, "What I like?"
"I mean, what would you like to see?"
"Oh, is that what you're asking?" you smiled as you scurried over to him, "I want to get away from this terrible weather."
Yoriichi heard your request and thought for a moment.
"We might not have enough time to get that far."
You pouted just a bit and he caught a glance of you.
He blinked, his eyes taking in the look of your puffy cheeks in slight surprise. It was odd to see a woman your age do such a thing but it strangely fit you, it was odd but then also somehow...a bit cute.
"I don't want to just deliver you there," he spoke, "I want to deliver you back as well."
You shook your head, "Oh, you don't have to do that."
Yoriichi didn't even have to say anything he looked at you with that same emotionless expression.
You frowned, "No? Why not?"
"It's not safe."
You sighed and let it go quite quickly. You were just happy you were getting away from the village.
You looked over at the red-headed man beside you, "Yoriichi-san, what do you like?"
"Are you asking what I'd like to see?"
You shook your head, "I'm asking for your interests."
"..."
"Well?"
"..."
"You don't have any?!"
"I like simple things."
"Simple things like what?"
"I like when it's quiet."
"Then can we go somewhere with quiet blue skies?"
His maroon eyes landed on your face. Unfortunately, he couldn't do that. It was simply too far. Your persistence was admirable though.
"I can't."
You nodded, "I know..."
You looked into each other's eyes for a moment. His eyes were pretty,
you found them almost enchanting. His eyes lingered in yours before they landed on the bag you were carrying on your back.
He stopped walking.
"Let me carry that."
You shook your head, "Don't worry, I've got it."
"We're going to be walking for a while. Let me help you. It'll be easier for you. "
"..."
Despite your previous words, you found yourself transferring it over to him anyway...and he was right, it was easier for you. The lightened load was surprisingly relieving and although you now felt free, you were a bit concerned.
You looked up at him wondering if you had done the right thing but as your walk continued you realized your concerns were futile.
This man was in a world of his own.
He walked straight with not a stumble in sight, his red long hair swayed majestically and his stride was effortless.
The more you found yourself peeking glances at him the more you felt a sensation arise.
The excitement you felt just from being around him was shocking.
::
Halfway through your walk, you found yourself stopping for a break. It wasn't a break for Yoriichi, rather a break for you but you hadn't suggested it. Yoriichi had decided to take a break after monitoring your pace. He figured you weren't the type to say anything even if you felt tired.
As such you sat beside him near a tree, almost shoulder to shoulder, you began rummaging through your bag.
He pondered if he was right in stopping. You didn't seem tired at all.
"I have something for you," you said excitedly.
Yoriichi looked at you skeptically, "I don't require anything from you."
You shook your head, "I wanted to do this."
Your hands grabbed a hold of it, "You didn't have to agree to do this so I wanted to make sure I got you something. I hope you like bright colours."
He tilted his head at you as he watched you pull out a blanket.
"For when you travel in cold climates."
He blinked a few times watching as you placed it in his hands.
He looked down at the cloth examining it for a few seconds.
He didn't really need one. In fact, he didn't really sleep that much when he was on the go. Still--he squeezed it a bit--it smelt like you.
His expression was blank and so you were confused for a moment, that was until his hands started skimming across the material.
It was soft.
His lip curled very slightly.
"Thank you, (Y/N)," he said simply.
He bowed a bit and you immediately spoke up, "You don't have to be so formal, Yoriichi-san."
He tilted his head.
"I feel very comfortable around you..."
It grew quiet as soon as the words left you. You wondered if you had said too much.
"As do I," Yoriichi said, instantly dismantling your worries.
You gave a slight sigh of relief which he caught.
He spoke, "You can just call me Yoriichi...you don't have to be formal either."
You blushed.
He blinked, watching your expression in slight amusement.
He wasn't mistaken, he did find you cute.
"Okay, Yoriichi."
