The next day greeted you with a rude awakening. You were sore. Every muscle in your body ached from the journey you had traveled the previous day. The sensation throbbed through your body and you found yourself groaning as you tried to move yourself up.
At first, you found it hard to even sit up but as soon as you did, you realized your usual optimistic attitude was not going to be present today. Your head was throbbing; you had a headache.
You had originally desired to travel far and wide but you realized now that was not going to be possible. Your body simply didn't want to. Besides, you were more intrigued by this new place.
You turned your head to look around the room. There was a bright light coming in from the window but the thing that caught your attention the most was that Kiyoko was no longer in the room. Your eyebrow rose as you suspected where she went but assured yourself she would come back eventually.
You rubbed your eyes a bit before reluctantly gathering your strength to get up on your feet. With wobbly steps you made your way up and headed to the door shortly after. You were about to slide it open when it slid open by itself.
"Oh!" the voice said.
You looked forward to see Kiyoko. Her long hair was wet and a slight smile dawned her face as she laid eyes on you.
"Hello (Y/N)," she greeted, "You finally woke up. I was wondering when you would."
Your eyebrows furrowed. You had no idea what she meant.
She swiftly made her way in, noticing your confused expression, "It's mid-afternoon," she noted.
"What?!"
Your head snapped toward the window to confirm her suggestion. You looked up toward the sky and indeed, she was correct. The sky was bright and orange, the sun was right in your face. You didn't notice when you woke up; your headache was the only thing on your mind.
Upon the realization your facial expression dropped, "I overslept," you pouted.
Kiyoko managed to hear your words and couldn't resist a small smirk. She found your demeanour somewhat cute.
"Don't worry. I told Yorrichi about it. He's still here. He didn't go anywhere."
Your head snapped back towards her, your memory fully kicking in, "You told him?"
She nodded yet again, this time wandering around looking for something to dry her hair, "You were supposed to continue your journey today, weren't you? I had to tell him so he knew about the delay."
She seemed to fade you out completely as she went about her business but you stood there in silent contemplation.
You could feel the same guilt of yesterday coming back to whiplash you in the face.
You had only just learnt about how you were inconveniencing Yoriichi yesterday and yet the first thing you did today was inconvenience him again.
He had only offered you a three day journey. You were unhappy that you had used a large portion of it sleeping, but you had no intention of asking him to extend it.
