"Thanks a lot," Chan thanked his manager as he got out from the car. He couldn't wait to surprise all his kids. He'd come home a day earlier than the day he told them. He pulled up his luggage to the building and got into the lift. He pressed the button to their floor as he imagined what their reactions were going to be like giggling to himself.

Once he reached their floor, he quietly pressed the password on the door. He twisted the knob carefully not wanting to draw any attention from the kids considering some of them might be in the living room. But the moment he opened the door, his eyes witnessed the unimaginable.

In the dark living room, the kids sat in a circle holding candles. And at the center, sat Haein with her hair all messy making her look like a possessed sorceress and a few weird equipments lying on the floor infront of her. He felt like he had walked into some sort of horror movie set up. They all chanted in unison, "I know, you know, we know, Lee know. Abracadabra. Soonidoongidori is cute."

After a minute's chant, Haein picked up a Leebit plushie holding it by its ears. "And now, it's time for the holy sacrifice!" She put it back down on the ground and started stabbing it mercilessly with a big butcher knife. Though Chan knew it was only a plushie, he couldn't help but feel a shiver run down his spine.

He turned the light switch on and cursed, "What the fuck?" All the heads were instantly turned towards him.

"Is the pizza guy here?" Jisung chirped as he leaned back a little to get a clear view of the entrance. "Oh, it's just Chan hyung."

"Aww..." The kids pouted in disappointment.

"Chris!" Haein stood up and ran to him embracing him tightly almost making him trip. Chan pushed his conflicting feelings to the side for a while and hugged her back. "But weren't you supposed to come home tomorrow?" She raised her head from his chest asking him.

"Well, I wanted to give you guys a surprise but I got surprised instead," Chan started as he observed the condition of the room. "Seriously, I go away for a few days and you guys just start a cult of your own?"

"It's not a cult, okay? We were just making a horror skit. See?" Hyunjin explained as he pointed towards the camera on the coffee table.

"And why did you come back early?" Changbin said with a hint of annoyance.

"I was expecting a bit more kind welcome," Chan spoke being slightly offended. "It seems like you guys were having much more fun with Haein."

"Yeah, because she's actually close to our age unlike you, old man," Seungmin wittily remarked.

"I was lowkey preparing a grand welcome for you. I even found the perfect song," Jisung said as pulled out his phone and started play "Hey daddy" on Spotify. "You know your daddy's home~ And it's time to play~" he sang along enjoying the done look on Chan's face.

Chan's eyes once again fall on the items laying on the floor. "A dead lizard, a knife, needles, a doll... where the hell did you get this book of spells? And is that the skull from last year's Halloween decoration?" He contorted his face registering the odd objects. "God knows what you would've done if I was away for a few more days..."

"Well, we were actually working on a plan to rob the British museum," Jisung grinned.

"The British museum? As in the British museum of highly valuable historical artifacts?" Chan scoffed wide eyed.

"You mean the British museum of stolen artifacts," Haein corrected him.

"So you're gonna steal stolen artifacts?" Chan questioned raising an eyebrow.

"I think 'social service' is the word you're looking for. It's not stealing, if it's from the thieves. We're just being modern day Robin Hoods," Jisung justified.

"Those bloody colonisers think they can take whatever they want," Changbin scoffed. "We must avenge our oppressed ancestors," he held his fist up like a revolutionist.

Chan knew arguing with the kids was just vain. He knew they had probably watched a heist movie or a patriotic one. A tired sigh escaped his lips, "I need some chilled water to cool down my head." He started heading towards the kitchen. The kids looked at him wide eyed.

"We can't let him open the fridge!" Felix whisper yelled. All of them ran to the kitchen reached the fridge just as Chan was about to touch the handle. Haein stood infront of the door shielding it as the others stood on the side.

"What are you guys doing?" Chan asked more confusion written on his face.

"You can't open the fridge," Haein replied, her arms still cautiously spread out infront of the door.

"And why is that?" Chan raised an eyebrow.

"Because..." Haein began to think of a possible reason to tell him.

"Because it's not healthy to drink cold water right after coming from outdoors," Minho quickly handled the situation.

His remark only added to Chan's suspicions. "When did you guys start caring about that?"

"From today," said Jeongin as the others nodded in agreement.

Chan's eyes widened as he started pondering about all the possibilities. "You guys are hiding a dead body in there, aren't you?" He quickly, yet gently, pushed the kids away from the refrigerator pulling the door open. Black smoke instantly came out from the fridge flooding his vision. He coughed stepping away from the fridge. The kids covered their mouths in unison as they saw his black face, holding back a laugh.

"I- uh- I'll get a napkin," Haein said before running off to find something to wipe Chan's face with.

...

"23... 24... 25..." the boys counted as they continued doing sit ups while holding their ears. Their legs were almost on the verge of giving up.

"Don't you dare stop till 50," Chan warned them as he kept getting his face wiped by Haein.

All of them fell down on the floor on top of each other losing all strength in their body. They groaned and whined in pain.

"It's not fair! Why doesn't she have to do sit ups?" Changbin complained.

"Because I know she has nothing to do with this. It must've been you guys," Chan spoke calmly. "Besides, she told me about all your shenanigans while I was away. I promised her I'd get you guys punished for troubling her." The boys could see Haein sticking her tongue out teasing them from Chan's side making them groan.

"Favouritism at its peak. What happened to equality?" Jisung rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen him punish Haein for anything. She can literally get away with murder if she bats her non-existent eye lashes at him cutely enough," Jeongin stood up crossing his arms, his tone laced with a hint of jealousy.

"I think we clearly know who Chan's favourite is now," Hyunjin said with a judgemental expression.

"No, Jinnie. I don't have favourites," Chan instantly defended himself. "I love all of you equally."

"Yeah, that's what my mother said after giving the bigger slice of the pizza to my sister, also half of her property," Changbin huffed trauma dumping like usual.

"N-no, it's just that Haein's..." Chan's voice slightly stuttered. "Haein is just... younger. I can't bring myself to be too harsh to her. I feel like she's literally a newborn that I have to be super cautious with..."

"I.N ah~ seems like your 'Maknae on top' position's in danger," Minho smirked enjoying the conversation.

"Oh will I ever get my days back as the maknae?" Jeongin let out a melancholic sigh.
