Not aware of what happened back in Melbourne a month ago and her friends telling Sam she was pregnant; Ava was on her way to three-month ultrasound appointment. John was accompanying her to the hospital appointment, having been by her side for the weeks she cried and cried, when she found out she was pregnant. Having a baby join them, was a sweet moment for them all, even though it was hard for Ava.
"You ready to see your baby?" John asked.
"Very much" Ava smiled, putting her hand on her stomach. "Do we get to find out the gender today too?".
"Yes, the doctor said she has the blood test with her" John informed her. "What are you thinking?".
"A girl for some reason but I will be happy with any gender, as long he or she is healthy" Ava answered.
"Jacob and I think it will be a boy. Faith and Joseph say girl too" John chuckled. "Here we are".
John parked the car in the hospital parking. The two of them got out of the car and walked into the hospital. Ava checked in, sitting in the waiting room with John.
"John?" Ava called to him, looking up at him. "Can you take me to Melbourne? I want to see my girls before I get heavily pregnant and can't travel longer distances".
"Sure. When do you want to go?" John asked.
"Maybe in two or three weeks' time. I want to celebrate with them" she said, smiling.
"And tell Sam?" John asked with curiosity.
"I don't know about that John. He has a new girlfriend" she replied.
"Even though Daniel was a fuckwit, Sam made you take drastic steps in your previous relationship. Why can't you make him do the same thing?" he said. "Girlfriend or no girlfriend, this is his child, and he has a right to know. Keeping it, will be just as wrong".
Ava pondered for a moment, before sighing. "I will tell him face to face".
John nodded, then looked at the doctor when she called Ava in. He followed his sister into the doctor's office and sat on the seat beside Ava. The doctor asked Ava a few questions before grabbing the results of the blood test.
"You ready to find out the gender?" the doctor asked and smiled when John and Ava nodded. "Congratulations, you are having a baby...".
