A week had gone past since the cruise took its course. Ava and her friends were enjoying their time so far, despite the problems of Daniel and his harassment's and violence against Ava. She always put a smile on for her friends but behind the closed doors, she was crying herself to sleep each night. She knew it was going to take her brothers some time to get to her and she was holding on each day but Daniel continued to make her life a living hell.

She hadn't seen Sam much since their encounter at the restaurant because Daniel had her locked up in their suite for the last few days. He was going out with his bodyguard and his in laws, enjoying drinks and the sunshine, while Ava stayed in the room.

It was night time, she laid in bed with Daniel who was fast asleep. Ava stared up at the ceiling for a while, before looking at Daniel. Knowing he was in a deep sleep, she slowly and carefully got out of the bed and put a robe on, before quietly leaving the room. She walked out onto the deck and to the front of the cruise ship.

The evening was a little cool and the dark scenery was still beautiful. She looked down at the dark ocean water and got lost in thought, until she started hearing footsteps behind her. She immediately thought that Daniel had woken up and came for her, so she cautiously turned around and was relieved when she saw Sam Walsh behind her.

"H-hi" she said, wiping away her tears. "What are you doing here?".

"I couldn't sleep so thought I'd come out and walk around a bit" Sam said, noticing her tears. "You alright?".

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine" she weakly smiled at him. She looked around, remembering that Daniel's bodyguard could be watching. "I need to go" she said, walking past Sam.

Suddenly she felt Sam's hand, grabbing her arm and turning her around again.

"You're afraid of him" he said, seeing how red her eyes were close up. "He is hurting you, isn't he?".

"No. You don't know anything" Ava said, getting more and more worried that she just needed to go away. "Please.. I have to go Sam" she pleaded with him. "You just don't understand".

"I would if you just tell me" Sam said, being eager to help her.

"You've only known be a very very short time, how can you stand there and act like you are into me and want to help me. You don't know me Sam" she said.

"Yeah.. you're right. I don't but I know one thing" he said, standing right in front of her now. "I see a young girl hurting. A girl trying to escape. It's not healthy".

Hearing this, it made Ava tear up again and made her cry. "I can't talk to you Sam. His bodyguard could be watching us from somewhere" she said as she looked around. "He'll report back to Daniel and you don't want to know what he could do to me".

Sam looked around to see if he could spot anyone that was acting suspicious or watching them. "Is he assaulting you?" Sam asked, wanting to show he was serious now.

"He... he has hurt me but mostly he mentally and emotionally abuses me" she said with a soft voice, looking into Sam's eyes. "My brothers are coming to rescue me but I don't know when".

"I can help you" he offered.

"No. I don't want you anywhere near this. You are a famous AFL player, a great person and have a great heart. Don't jeopardise that for a girl you don't know" she said, shutting him down immediately. "Please. I don't want to live with more stress about ruining your reputation or football career".

Sam was about to say something when Ava put her hand on his, looking deep into his eyes. "See you around. Thank you but I need to go" she said, turning around to walk away when she tripped over and went over the ships railing, almost falling to the bottom level of ship but thankfully for her sake, Sam was able to catch her in time, holding onto her hand tightly.

"I got you" he said, trying his best to lift her up.

Afraid and worried, Ava cried holding onto Sam as tightly as she could, not wanting to fall on the hard ground under her.

Once Sam got a good grip, he carefully lifted her up and over the railing, when he was met with a hug from Ava. He put his arms around her, consoling her.

"T-thank you" she sobbed, before looking at him.

They looked into each other's eyes, getting closer to each other's lips when they heard the bar door open. Ava pulled back straight away, thanking Sam and running off back to her suite, hoping Daniel was still fast asleep.
