"Well?" my tormentor asked and raised an eyebrow in question. He placed his hand on my shoulder and started to pat it, and my whole body grew tense while the hair on the back of my neck stood at attention. "What do you have to say? Are you going to say that she is no longer a friend of yours, especially since she decided to leave you alone?"

Yes... the stupid voice said. Tell him yes. Or nod because it is easier.

"You would save yourself a lot of heartache," he said in a small sing song voice while he continued to move the plate back and forth, back and forth. "And a not so dirty pair of pants."

He spilled some of my food in my lap, and I couldn't help but flinch in shock and fear. "Oops," he said, cheerfully as if he was happy that I had flinched away from him. "Sorry, it slipped. I did not mean for that to happen."

Liar... I wanted to say but couldn't while I bit the inside of my lip to keep myself from crying again. Please, why are you lying to me? Why are you doing this to me? Please, stop and leave me alone.

Tears pricked the corners of my eyes, but I didn't say a word while I waited for him to finish doing what he wanted to do, even though I had no idea if he was going to keep this up or not.

Oh, Goddess, please let him leave me alone, I silently prayed, even though I knew that she would never listen to my prayers because she never did. Please, I don't want to live like this anymore.

Then say the magic words to your "best friend," the stupid voice sneered. She doesn't care about you anyway. If she did, then she would be here to help you with everything that you need.

I didn't say a word and bit the inside of my lip. My heart skipped a beat before it started to pound hard and fast in my chest, and I couldn't help but pray that he would get it done sooner rather than later.

"Oh, so there is nothing going on in your brain. Is that it?" my tormentor asked with a small cheerful smile in his voice. He moved the plate around some more, and more food ended up in my lap.

Oh, Goddess, please get him to stop, I continued to silently pray, closing my eyes and biting the inside of my lip while my bottom lip started to shake. Please.

"Hey, you big bully," someone snapped from behind us, and I couldn't help but almost cry when I heard that it was Sam. "Snack on this."

Splat!

A bit of something ended up on my back while my tormentor got the whole brunt of whatever Sam had in her hands, and I couldn't help but jump up in shock and open my eyes while I turned to look at them.

"Mr. Price, Miss Carter, and Mr. Reeves!" my teacher snapped, and we all flinched and looked toward her to see her standing there with arms folded across her chest and a small scowl was on her face. "What is the meaning of this?"

"She started it," my tormentor said and pointed at Sam, and I looked at my best friend before I looked at my teacher, my face growing pale. "It's her fault."

"No, you are the one that started it," Sam said with a small scowl on her face while she narrowed her eyes. "Weren't you? You did this yesterday, too." She folded her arms across her chest and scowled while she narrowed her eyes further.

"Ex-cuse me?" our teacher, Ms. Patterson, asked, raising an eyebrow in question while she looked at my best friend. "And how did he start this yesterday, Miss Carter?"

"Because he threw stuff on him then," she replied and looked at her before she looked at my tormentor, "and he was covered in spaghetti."

"You are so dead," my tormentor said and tried to shove Sam away from them only for Ms. Patterson to step in the way with a scowl on her face. "Move," he snapped, forgetting who he was talking to and only wanting to focus on my best friend, who hadn't said another word. "Let me at her. Now."

"No," Ms. Patterson said. She narrowed her eyes and scowled, standing taller. "All of you get up and go to the office. Now. Is that understood?"

"Not until I teach her a lesson," my tormentor said. He tried to push past the teacher to get to Sam but wasn't able to because she moved further in his way. "I am going to hurt her!" he exclaimed. "I am going to hurt her!"

More teachers and the school police officer rushed over to us to help, and they grabbed my bully's arm.

"Settle down and let's go," the school officer said, gruffly and started to take him to the principal's office. "You do not need to act like this, Mr. Reeves, unless you do want to get into trouble."

"Then she better get into trouble, too!" he yelled while he gestured toward Sam while he tried but failed to get away from the school officer. "It's her fault, Sir! It's always her fault! She should have never been born, and her parents would still be here!"

"That's enough, Mr. Reeves!" Ms. Patterson exclaimed, taking a step toward them. She narrowed her eyes further and scowled. "Detention now until the end of the month! Is that understood?"

"Bu-"

"No!" she exclaimed and shook her head. "That is enough. Now, be quiet and go to the principal's office willingly unless you want to get expelled. Is that understood?"

"Bu-"

"I asked, is that understood?" she asked again, interrupting him while she raised her hand to silence him.

My bully stopped fighting against the school officer when she asked that and bowed his head, his anger leaving him just as fast as it came. "Yes, Ms. Patterson," he said and nodded, not looking at us. "I understand."

"Good, now go to the principal's office quietly." She looked at the school resource officer and set her jaw while she stared at him. "Take him there."

The school resource officer nodded and started to lead him to the principal's office without much complaint from him.

However, before they reached the double doors, my bully turned around one last time and glared at both Sam and I, narrowing his eyes into a thin line. "You are dead," he spat and bared his teeth in warning. "You are dead now. I hope you know that."

"Mr. Reeves!" Ms. Patterson exclaimed. "That is a day of outside suspension! Keep that up, and I will add more. Is that understood?"

My bully didn't say a word but narrowed his eyes and scowled. He turned away from us and followed the school resource officer without another word, and it felt like I could finally breathe again.

Thank, Goddess...
