Chap. 17 - Tense Relationships

Ghost wasted no time, and trusting that Lieutenant Ming would know how to handle the situation, he headed to the Concordia City Palace. Generally, seeing the empress would require a prior appointment and a letter of approval in response, but this matter was too important to wait.

Regardless of his rank as a general, the soldiers of the royal guard did not respond to his orders, and only abided by the words of Minister Dong and Empress Shuang in person.
