Strange noises are heard, coming from the deepest areas of the city of Komonosu. Its ascending cylindrical shape gives it an effect similar to a wind instrument, whose notes travel stridently through the entire metal conduit. The big difference is that the sounds coming from the bottom of the city are much more chaotic.

Hornet, Hachi, Kaede, Bretta, Sun Ce and Ghost were alarmed by the scandal, unable to know, like the rest of the bugs present, what exactly was happening. They were about to finish the sandwiches, but they had to put the last leftovers aside to run around and figure out what was going on.

Everyone looked out over the ledge, looking down, but the only thing noticeable was thousands of bugs running from one side to the other, but nothing that could give them a clue, when a thought terrified the minds of several of those present.

Deep Nest was on the verge of a civil outbreak due to the food crisis, but that didn't make sense. The rations that arrived yesterday should have been distributed to the population, which should have, at least, calmed social discontent, even if just a little. So... Why? What was happening?

—Damn, we have to warn about this. Hornet, go and tell mother immediately.

-What are you up to? I don't want you to do anything stupid.

-I won't do it. But we must discover what happened before there are worse consequences. Ghost-dono, Sun Ce-dono, Kaede-dono, Bretta-san. Please return to the palace with my sister.

—Hachi-dono. She can't go alone. He's still recovering. —Bretta tried to reason with her.

-I agree. —The eldest of the Suns intervened. —I must go with my troops and make sure everything is okay.

—Vallan. —Ghost's voice, although not strident, did not go unnoticed. —I will accompany her.

The white weaver and everyone present looked at the ghost, while he looked towards Hachi with some determination in his eyes. Changing his mind was not an option. That was something that became very clear.

—I'm going with you, little brother.

—No, Kaede. Return to the palace and protect Bretta-san.

—But... I can fight too... if you give me a bow I could... I could.

—Not today, Bretta-san.

Ghost's own voice was the one that stopped the beetle's determination. While it was true that Bretta had been practicing with the bow for a considerable time, she was far from being able to use it in a confrontation. Much less be able to kill someone in the process. However, Ghost didn't back down, even when Bretta deflated on his shoulder. However, everyone understood the ghost's decision.

—Come on, Bretta-san. On another occasion it will be.

-And....

Feeling worthless leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, and a feeling of helplessness in the middle of your chest. However, everything has its time, and we all have our purpose. And on this occasion, Bretta's purpose was far from any conflict. At least for the moment.

Without further hesitation, each one went their own way. General Sun Ce headed to the outskirts of the city, where his troops were resting, ignorant of what was happening inside the city. Hornet, Kaede and Bretta hurried to the War Hall, where the first messengers were already reporting about different disturbances in the deeper areas of the city, although the reason was unknown. And finally, Hachi and Ghost descended at a brisk pace to the lower levels.

With his spider ability, Hachi was able to descend the walls without much trouble, being able to find the small cracks in the rock and wood to secure his legs. Ghost, on the other hand, made powerful leaps between structure and structure, some even five or six times his own height, but always falling with an elegance impossible for his size.
