Moments of joy for many, and a brighter future loomed on the horizon. Not even 48 hours passed, and a huge caravan was already leaving Concordia City towards Deep Nest. And not just any caravan.
One hundred carts carried tons of Greenpath food to the darkest areas of Hallownest. Although the weavers were carnivorous, they could survive by eating alternative foods such as grains, especially soybeans. In addition, vegetables would be welcomed by the inhabitants who were herbivores in the city.
Aside from that, four carts served as escort, with a total of 100 moss soldiers for security. There weren't many of them, but with the figures present in the caravan, one had to be very unlucky to decide that stealing such a shipment would be a good idea.
At the head of the caravan, old Ferregal led the way, while Hornet and Hachi enjoyed the trip inside their wagon pulled by Lester, now with more comfortable clothes for them. As was customary, Ghost walked next to the cart, since the very stubborn one was the only one who did not travel on a saddle, even when they offered him several options that were very suitable for him.
A little further behind were Sun Ce and Sun Quang. Both, as bearers of the words of the Green Path and Empress Shuang. His work was very important, as he had to ensure that the trade agreement with Deep Nest was fair, and that they received a payment equivalent in value to the cargo they were transporting. Of course, the word "value" varies greatly depending on the situation, much more so when both kingdoms used different currencies. Green Path used white free, while Deep Nest used Silk Yang. Both are not at all comparable, and for this reason, Sun Quang, with his great knowledge, had the duty to advise these exchanges personally. Although having to go to Deep Nest left him in a constant state of anger and denial. And he had his reasons.
And finally, in one of the middle carts were Kaede and Bretta. The first, unable to resist the adventure. The second, in charge of ensuring Hachi's health during the trip, because although the weaver showed considerable signs of improvement, it was better not to tempt fate. And along with everyone, the little more than 120 merchants who were pulling the cart and saw an opportunity to make some extra money from this potential new trade agreement.
Two weeks of travel separated both cities. The journey in such a large convoy was slow, and the cargo insects had to rest at night. An opportune moment where camps were set up, and people ate and slept without fear of being attacked, since the guards were rotating and lasted all night. And eventually, the groups decided depending on their own interests. Which is why during the 5th night of the journey, Hachi, Hornet and Bretta were sitting in front of a pot enjoying a good soup, while the males spent their time telling stories and talking too loudly. However, there was a free chair.
—Uffff.... I see they didn't finish it.
The fourth female soon reached the rest, and fell on the stool tiredly. He was trying to fix his hair a little, while stretching his body and rubbing his tail a little. Something that the weaving sisters saw with surprise, but that Bretta looked at with a poker face. She already knew that aspect after all.
—We thought you didn't want to eat today.
—Are you kidding? If I'm hungry. I was just a little busy. —Bretta let out a laugh before speaking.
—It shows. Can I serve you?
-Yes please.
—Hey... Are you okay? You look agitated.
—And you're sweating a little. Are you sure you're not sick? —The sisters asked innocently.
—Believe me girls... Miss Kaede is perfectly fine.
—Hee hee. I can't say no.
—Yes, I suppose so. Take. It's hot.
—Mmmm... Thank you. It smells wonderful.
