Scylla 31: The Hunt

I am standing in the veranda of my room, watching the sun slowly rise over the peak of the mountain, casting a golden hue over the land. The tranquil glow illuminated the infrastructures of the empire.

“Your Grace,” I looked back at the voice who called me and I saw the maids.

Oh. It's about time.

I walked towards them and they lent me the cape I was using for today's hunting event. I stood in front of a whole-body mirror and scanned myself for the last time.

I am wearing my knight uniform since I'll join the hunt. It is made of finely woven silk and cotton, there are a few pins and a medallion on the right side of my chest while 5 stars are engraved on each of my shoulders, it symbolize my position and military power.

The cape is the same color as my uniform, white. The edges of it are trimmed with intricate lace, and there's a delicate pattern and transparent rose symbol on the back. It drapes gracefully on my shoulders.

I just tied my hair in a high ponytail and put on some light makeup to enhance my features. I'm wearing boots that reach my knees.

Nang matapos ay lumabas na rin ako, sumalubong sa'kin si Estelle at Kieffer na kanina pa nag a-abang sa'kin sa labas ng pinto. They both greet me in an instance when they saw me.

“The carriage is ready, Your Grace,” pagbibigay alam ni Kieffer, tinanguan ko siya bilang tugon at nagpatuloy sa paglalakad.

“Did you have any news about Uno?” I asked them while we sit inside the carriage. Papunta na kami kung saan gaganapin ang hunting event, the location is on the foot of the mountain, sa totoo lang ay hindi ko alam ba't kopa kailangan pumunta doon.

I have a file of work to do, and this kind of event is the last thing I should do. But the Silvestres will attend, and I can't risk them being in danger while they're not in my sight.

Who knows what kind of danger awaits there, I'm not just referring to the monsters. I'm also talking about those damn nobles.

I lean slightly on the window pane of the carriage so I can take a better look outside, hindi naman ako nakikita ng mga tao sa labas at tinted ang salamin. Bukod sa mga nobles at hunters na sasali ay andito rin ang mga kababaihan na manonood. The tents are probably belong to the ladies who plan to have a tea party while the hunt is on-going.
