Scylla 28: The Tea Party

The sound of the clock resonates with the whole room, I am busy flourishing the painting I've been working on since yesterday's twilight. It's just a simple scenery of mountains and flower fields . I stroke the brush with careful force, I've been planning to display this in the orphanage once I finish it.

It's still early in the morning, I am in my room, in front of the balcony, kaya't payapang pumapasok ang hangin at dumadampi sa'king balat. I stopped midway from what I was doing when a knock interrupted me.

“You may enter,” I said to the person outside the door, pinagpatuloy kona ang ginagawa at hindi inalis ang mata ko sa'king harapan. “What is it?” I asked.

“Master, you have a schedule today,” Saad ni Estelle at lumakad ito papalapit sa kinaroroonan ko. Bahagya namang kumunot ang noo ko sa sinabi nito at napaisip, may gagawin ba ako ngayong araw? Tinigil ko ang pagpipinta at tumayo saka hinarap ito.

“And what it is?” I walk towards the vanity table and look for a handkerchief to clean my hands.

“You have a tea party to attend to, it is prepared by Lady Vionella of house Bleu. It is the girl you met at the Fallen Boutique a week ago, she invited you and you accepted it if you remember,” bahagya naman akong napa simangot sa sinabi ni Estelle, I just finished a whole table of paper yesterday and I expect that I can leisurely spend my time lazing around in the manor.

I look at Estelle, “Do I need to attend to? Can we just make some excuse like I am busy or anything?”

I am not good at socializing, I get easily drained when I am surrounded by a lot of people. I'm not also good at handling conversations and usually, I just ended up intimidating whoever tried to engage some talk to me.

“Of course, master. You need to attend, you don't want to break the hopeful heart of Lady Vionella and it is already spread in the news that you will attend.”

“As if you can gaslight me, but alright, call the maids so we can prepare now,” natawa naman siya ng bahagya at mabilis naman na sinunod ang sinabi ko. I sit on the edge of my bed and sigh, It's not like it's the end of the world if I didn't attend that tea party.

A few minutes passed and five maids entered my room carrying a lot of dresses together with Estelle, I stood up from my seat and started examining the dresses. It is all from Fallen Boutique. Kinuha ko ang isang kulay pulang dress at sinuri ito, it is an off-shoulder fitted dress with diamond beads embedded on it, and it has a small slit in the side.

Binalik ko ito at naghanap pa muli, I check few more dresses 'til my eyes landed on the dress in the last row. Nilapitan ko ito at napatango ng bahagya.

“I'll go with this,” they all bowed their head and immediately did their work, two maids proceeded to go inside my bathroom to prepare my bath while the other three started looking for jewelry that would match my dress.

I gave the dress I'd choose to Estelle and she handed it to the maid, it was just a simple classy dress, not so extravagant. It is a light pink tube corset dress with a little lace ribbon in the middle of it. The skirt is freely flowing with delicate sakura flowers intricately on the hem of it. I would partner it with a clear stiletos and white furry cape.
