Chapter 42: The Calm Before The Storm Part 2
"I won't confess that I waited.
But I let the lamp burned.
As the man masqueraded,
I hoped you'd returned."

"Marry me," Sebastian Sallow whispered inside that secluded space one night.
Penelope Silverthorn gave in a sudden breath from the proposal given. The suddenness of it left her feeling speechless and surprised.
Her mind raced; she tried to process the implications of what Sebastian just asked — marriage. A lifetime together. A promise of love and devotion that would bind their hearts.
A life with Sebastian Sallow.
It was like a stormy sea with her emotions. They were young, yet, it seemed perfect. Too perfect.
Sebastian lay beside her, staring with breathless parted lips. The silvery light that casted inside the home over the bright full moon caught clusters of the freckles on his face and the raw details of his faint flaws that made him, him.
— He was perfect. He was mine. Penelope clutched in.
But what about the children I couldn't bear for him?
But what about the endless trials I was being pressured into?
But what about the separation after graduation per working on quests?
But what about —
Sebastian, on the other hand, nearly caught second-guesses of wanting to drown in the deep waves of the sea outside the home. Penelope's silence killed him and he instantly thought of the worst. Rejection.
He thought he knew her well. Or so. They dated for almost two full years. He knew everything about her; Sebastian was sure she would accept a proposal. Penelope was as crazy as him. That's why they were so compatible.
"I'm a maniac, aren't I?" Sebastian whispered in self-doubt upon Penelope's silence. "We have an entire life ahead of us, and—"
"Sebastian,"
"I understand," Sebastian began to ramble on the bed, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "You could say no. I would completely respect you. I would not judge—"
"You want to marry me?" Penelope asked in reassurance.
Sebastian sat up from the bed, following Penelope's sit-up, and stared at her, shirtless, as he gave her a confused expression, his nose scrunching from the bizarre questioning.
