Chapter 46: Sebastian's Perspective

"I might show up to your doorstep,
soaking wet.
Say, I'm done running from the one
that I want so bad."
Niall Horan

Days Earlier

Anne Sallow and Poppy Sweeting stood there momentarily, their small frames nearly dwarfed by the imposing presence of the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower. It had only been a few short minutes since they had arrived at the castle, but everything felt off.

"I believe it's best I speak to my brother alone for this," Anne said in a murmur, holding her wand as she looked at the classroom door.

Poppy gave an awkward nod. "Yes. Of course. I wasn't planning to invade." She licked her lips and took her steps back.

Anne appreciated the kindness of the Hufflepuff and adjusted her skirt before tapping into the stairs and entering the empty classroom.

Surprisingly, the door that led to his office was opened. The professor usually preferred to keep it locked with a whiny sign and bolded letters — Anne never understood that. She laughed at him.

Anne Sallow didn't exactly burst in, but she also didn't keep privacy. It was her twin brother after all and she tolerated him for years. It made sense.

Sebastian Sallow leaned on his desk, lazily; a yawn came out of him at the same time, blocking out the steps that Anne made. He seemed bored as heck and his fingers played, skimming papers.

Anne let out a huff, letting her presence known.

Sebastian blinked and stared up. The book in his hand almost slipped while turning his back and confronting her.

Anne walked rapidly toward him. Sebastian expected a hug.

"Oh, h-heyy--"

— Slap.

Sebastian looked to the side from the unplanned physical injury and scoffed, rubbing his cheek, and looking at Anne with confusion.

"What the fuck—"

"How bloody dare you." Anne frowned, not regretting her hit once. It was odd considering she had never laid a hand on him that way. Even as children.

Sebastian was confused. His ringless fingers kept rubbing his cheek while also attempting to think about what to say.

He wasn't expecting anyone, nor a twin that looked exactly like him. Should he be worried?

"You're my brother, Sebastian," Anne said bitterly, her wand in hand. She lectured him. "It would've been nice to at least know your presence had arrived early. Very ignorant."
