Penelope Silverthorn's body could only take so much on the sight before her. A mixture of shock, hurt and a hint of anger waved onto her from seeing the one and only, Sebastian Sallow — again.

Involuntarily, the woman was oblivious to the truth. It was completely normal to trust her first instincts and shut him out. She didn't even let the emotions process at all.

Penelope's knuckles were white gripping the edge of the door, holding in her weakening magic as she instinctively shut the door — well, attempted.

Sebastian was quick with his movements. As the saying goes, he knew Penelope well, and he knew the confrontation wasn't going to be easy.

His hand extended rapidly, preventing the door from closing and the palm pressed against the wood, exerting enough force to keep it from closing.

Penelope could hear her own breath as she dazed at the stop. Her back leaned flatly adjacent to the opposite side of the door and her chest rose from each inhale and exhale; the struggle to keep the door closed was hard.

"No," It was the only word of communication she could give him.

There was a low huff, it might've been a sigh, that produced out of Sebastian from her call. He had to close his eyes and remind himself that Penelope was oblivious. He couldn't react, yet.

Sebastian's palm stayed on the door as his gaze fixated on the wet floor. "Pen, please."

Penelope's face mirrored Sebastian's. Although they weren't facing each other, they managed to correlate the same expressions.

How dare you have the bravery to leave before my return, Penelope?

Penelope furrowed. Was he serious?

"No." Penelope repeated, her faint weight trying to prevent Sebastian's entrance.

"I will not allow you to shut this door until we talk." Sebastian let out.

Was that a threat? Was he trying to scare me?as if he didn't scare me enough.

Penelope sweated beneath her cardigan, there was a second her eyes squeezed shut, wrinkling as she twisted the tips of her fingers to use Ancient Magic to lock the door.
