The golden light of the setting sun filtered through the grand windows of Taehyung's mansion, casting long, ominous shadows across the room. Anastasia stood in the middle of the luxurious space, her heart racing as Taehyung approached her, his every step deliberate and heavy with intent.
He stopped just a few feet away, his intense gaze locking onto hers. His eyes, dark and inscrutable, searched her face for any sign of deception. Anastasia could feel the weight of his suspicion, the danger that came with it.
"Why are you really here, Anastasia?" Taehyung's voice was low and cold, each word carefully measured. "And don't bother with the usual lies. I know exactly who you are."
Anastasia's breath caught in her throat. She knew Taehyung had resources, but she hadn't expected him to dig into her past so quickly. Or rather, the past that someone else had fabricated for her. She struggled to maintain her composure, aware that every word she said could either protect her or condemn her.
"I've told you everything I know," Anastasia replied, her voice steady despite the fear bubbling inside her. "I came here because I received tickets to Seoul. I thought it was just a harmless trip."
Taehyung's expression remained unreadable, but his eyes darkened. "A harmless trip?" He took another step forward, his presence overwhelming. "You expect me to believe that? When every piece of information I've uncovered tells me otherwise?"
Anastasia's mind raced as Taehyung's words echoed in the room. She didn't dare contradict him. If someone had planted this false information, they had done so for a reason. And if Taehyung, with all his power and connections, believed it, then there was no point in arguing. She decided it was safer to play along, to use this as a way to get closer to him.
Instead of responding, she lowered her gaze, feigning submission. Her silence spoke volumes, and she hoped it would satisfy his need for control. She could feel his eyes boring into her, searching for any sign of deception.
Taehyung stepped even closer, his presence overwhelming. He was so near now that she could feel the heat radiating from his body, sense the dangerous energy that surrounded him."You must realize," he said softly, his voice low and dangerous, "that I don't take kindly to lies. If there's anything you're hiding, I will find out."
Anastasia kept her gaze down, her heart racing. She was terrified, but she knew she had to maintain her composure. She couldn't afford to show fear—not now, not in front of him. Instead, she focused on steadying her breathing, playing the part of someone who had nothing to hide.
Taehyung watched her closely, clearly waiting for a reaction. When none came, he tilted his head slightly, as if reconsidering his approach. "You understand, don't you, Anastasia?" he continued, his tone almost conversational but laced with an underlying threat. "I have eyes and ears everywhere. There's nothing that escapes me."
