Phuwin’s POV

The hum of activity filled the Tangsekyuen mansion as I entered the grand hall. The anniversary party was just two days away, and the preparations were in full swing. I had been buried in work lately, tackling the responsibilities of my new role as co-CEO with a mix of excitement and determination.

After a productive day at the office, I had wrapped up early and decided to check in on the party preparations. The flowers were being arranged, and the cakes were being prepared with meticulous care. I ran my fingers over the guest list, making sure every detail was in place.

As I was inspecting the decorations, the front door creaked open, and I saw Dunk walk in, looking utterly exhausted. His usually bright eyes were dimmed with fatigue, and his shoulders slumped with the weight of his day.

“Dunk!” I called out, walking briskly towards him. “You look like you’ve had a rough day. Why don’t you go and rest?"

Dunk’s face brightened at my offer, and he managed a tired smile. “Yeah Phu, it's really a tough day.  I’ll head to my room and catch up on some rest."

“No problem,” I said, giving him a reassuring pat on the back.  "I’ll take care of everything here.”

Dunk nodded gratefully and made his way up to his room. I turned back to the preparations, ensuring that every detail was as it should be.

The team was working diligently, and I was pleased with the progress. Everything from the floral arrangements to the cake was coming together beautifully.

With Dunk resting and everything under control, I took a moment to appreciate how things were shaping up for the party.

As the night settled in, I felt a mix of excitement and relief, knowing that we were on track for a successful celebration.

Other side...

Pond’s POV

The office was quiet, save for the rhythmic tapping of my keyboard and the occasional shuffle of papers. It was well past business hours, but I was still here, buried in work.

I’d been pushing myself hard these past few days, trying to drown out everything else with deadlines and reports. The marriage date was the last thing I wanted to think about.

I glanced at the clock on the wall. It was late, but I couldn’t bring myself to leave. The thought of going home was overshadowed by the frustration and hurt I felt.

My father’s insistence on the wedding date had hit me hard. I knew I wouldn’t win this battle, but it didn’t make it any easier.

The marriage date was looming over me like a dark cloud, and no matter how much I worked, it wouldn’t go away.  I leaned back in my chair, feeling a pang of loneliness. I hated myself for feeling this way. I wanted to run away from it all, escape the pressure and expectations, but there was no easy way out.

The weight of my own cowardice pressed down on me, and I was angry at myself for not standing up to my father, for not having the courage to assert my own desires.

The reality was still harsh, but maybe there was a small chance for understanding or a solution if I faced it head-on, rather than hiding in my work.
