Pond drove the car to the mall, a soft smile tugging at his lips as he glanced over at Phuwin, who still had the blindfold on. The car ride was filled with anticipation, with Pond barely able to contain his excitement. After pulling into the parking lot, he unwrapped the cloth from Phuwin’s eyes.Phuwin blinked as the bright lights of the mall came into focus. He looked at Pond, his eyebrows raising in confusion but also amusement. "So...what are we doing here?" he asked, though he had a feeling that Pond had something special planned.
Pond grinned mischievously. "You'll see. Come on," he said, taking Phuwin's hand and leading him inside the mall. Phuwin followed willingly, trusting Pond entirely and not wanting to spoil whatever surprise was coming.
They walked through the bustling crowds until Pond led Phuwin into a clothing store. Phuwin watched as Pond began scanning the racks of clothes with a concentrated expression on his face, clearly searching for something specific. After a few moments, Pond pulled out a shirt and held it up for Phuwin to see. “How’s this? Do you like it?”
Phuwin glanced at the shirt—though still a bit confused about the sudden shopping trip—and nodded. “Yeah, it’s nice. But...why are we looking at shirts?”
Pond’s eyes sparkled with excitement as he leaned in closer. “It’s a couple shirt, baby. Look,” he said, showing the design more closely. A small half-heart was drawn in the center, with a thread connecting it, and the word "soul" written underneath.
Phuwin smiled softly, feeling touched by the gesture. He really liked the shirt, and seeing Pond’s enthusiasm, he didn’t have the heart to question anything further. “It’s cute. I like it.”
Pond’s grin widened. “Good! Now, go change into it!”
Phuwin blinked. “Wait, what? Why?” he asked, bewildered by Pond’s sudden demand.
Pond chuckled and gently pushed Phuwin toward the fitting rooms, pressing the shirt into his hands. “Just go na, baby. I’m changing into mine too. Come on, go! I’ll be out soon.”
Phuwin shook his head with an amused smile, but he complied. He stepped into the trial room, changing into the shirt. As he looked at himself in the mirror, he was pleasantly surprised at how well it fit him. The white shirt, with its simple design, somehow made him look even more radiant.
Stepping out of the fitting room, Phuwin found Pond already waiting for him. When Pond’s eyes landed on him, they widened, and his mouth dropped slightly open. For a moment, he couldn’t speak, simply staring at Phuwin as if he had just seen an angel.
Phuwin noticed the stunned look on Pond’s face and tilted his head. “So...how is it? Does it look good on me?” he asked, feeling a little self-conscious under Pond’s gaze.
Pond was still fumbling for words, his heart racing. “Good? Baby, you…you look...so pretty, so beautiful. Ethereal, even…” His voice trailed off as he tried to find the right words to describe how breathtaking Phuwin looked. “I can’t believe how perfect you look in that shirt.”
Hearing Pond’s genuine praise, Phuwin’s cheeks flushed a deep shade of pink. He couldn’t stop the shy smile spreading across his face as he tried to suppress his growing blush. “You’re making me blush, Pond,” he said, his voice soft. "Go change into yours already."
Pond chuckled and nodded, quickly disappearing into the fitting room. A few minutes later, he emerged, now wearing the matching black shirt. His shirt had the other half of the heart, with a thread and the word "mate" written on it.
Phuwin’s eyes widened when he saw Pond in the shirt. His heart fluttered in his chest as he took in how effortlessly handsome Pond looked in the simple black shirt. He couldn’t help but feel lucky—this was his boyfriend.
“You look...really handsome,” Phuwin said, his voice sincere. He smiled and leaned in to plant a soft kiss on Pond’s cheek. “I love it.”
Pond, clearly flustered by the cheek kiss, blushed a little himself but managed to keep his composure. He smiled warmly at Phuwin and took his hand. “Let’s go, baby,” he said, leading Phuwin back toward the car.
As they settled into the car, Phuwin finally asked, “Now, what’s with the couple shirts? Where are you taking me next?”
Pond laughed, starting the car. “It’s a couple shirt, Phu! We’re a couple, so why not wear matching shirts? It’s cute, right?” He glanced at Phuwin with a playful glint in his eyes. “As for where I’m taking you, you’ll know soon. Be patient na, teerak.”
The way Pond said “teerak” sent a shiver down Phuwin’s spine. His heart skipped a beat, and he felt his face flush again. He muttered under his breath, “Such a tease you are…”
Pond just chuckled, enjoying Phuwin’s reaction as he drove them toward the next part of his surprise.
