When I first read the news I couldn't stop crying.
Imagine you study so hard, work so much, give so many exams, work so many hours, to become a doctor
And then just one day in the same hospital you worked in for years...
They find your dead body unclothed...
Bleeding from your eyes, mouth, vagina
Legs twisted and pulled apart so hard that your pelvis breaks
Spectacles crushed into your face, head banged against the wall, vaginal torture causing multiple injuries...
Gangraped and strangulated to death
Your parents pleading to see the body, hospital ruling it out as a suicide.
Safety is a really a luxury for women.
Hundreds of women and doctors protesting in the rains...
That's how we start the 78th independence day.
The irony of the situation!
Because even after all these years, we never really got independence!
No independence from crimes, corruption, and rape!
