"You know, I might have these same feelings." Johnnie said. Jake widened his eyes again, "What?"
"It's Love, Jake." Johnnie said sincerely. "That is what you're feeling. Not just platonic love, romantic love."
It clicked.
All of it made sense in Jake's head as the wheels are turning in it. Processing everything that Johnnie has just said.
A soft smile spreads across Johnnie's lips as he ran a hand through Jake's red hair. "And that's okay, it's okay to feel that way. You're not lost anymore, you're found. I got you, you're safe."
Jake leaned into the touch, a soft sniffle left his nose as he croaked out. "You mean that?" His voice is full of emotion.
"Yes Jake, I realized that I have feelings for you." Johnnie confessed. "I don't know when or how these feelings started, but I'm happy that they're for you. Do you feel the same way? Am I right, Jake?"
Jake nodded, looking down at his hands. They started to shake. "Yeah.. you're right. I felt lost for the longest time, trying to deny it. I thought I was straight. I thought I only liked girls.. but–"
"You like boys too." Johnnie interrupted. Jake nods, "mhm.. but not just any boy. I like you. I have fallen in love with you." He confessed, his voice shaky and crackly with emotion.
Jake's feelings felt more ... Sensed. It all made sense. He didn't feel as lost anymore. And with Johnnie by his side, hopefully he won't feel lost again.
Johnnie sets his hand onto Jake's leg. Which made Jake's heart pound inside of his ribcage.
The two locked eyes once again. Johnnie can see the emotional exhaustion this train wreck of emotions has done to Jake.
"You're not lost in that maze anymore," Johnnie said. "I found you." He whispered as he leaned in.
Jake leaned in as well, and the two connected their lips in a soft passionate kiss.
Their lips felt soft against each other. As they moved their lips in synchrony. Full of love, happiness, and passion.
Slowly pulled back and reopened their eyes, locking them as they smiled at each other.
Jake felt understood. He felt found. His feelings made sense now. He wasn't sure why it such a mess.
But I guess love is a complicated emotion to some? He didn't know, but he didn't want to get lost again and overthink the situation.
Johnnie's blue eyes are full of love as he opened his arms.
"c'mere." He said sweetly.
