Stanley's Bar mitzvah was today. Both Richie and Lydia were going since they got invited. Lydia woke up early to get ready, she went to her closet picking out a blue denim dress along with a pair of blue converses. She curled her hair. She put some lipstick on and went to meet Richie since they both agreed that they would meet up because Richie doesn't know where the synagogue was.

Lydia meet Richie in front of the pharmacy, he was there in a blue suit. Lydia chuckled.

"Hey uh good suit." Lydia teased.

"Shut up. It was the only one I could find..." Richie said glaring at Lydia before laughing.

"Alright, let's go to Stanley's bar mitzvah." Lydia spoke and Richie nodded. The pair walked to the synagogue.

Richie and Lydia sat beside each other watching and hearing Stanley.

"Reflecting on the meaning of what I just read the word le chanat comes up a lot which means to change to transform which makes sense I guess because today I'm supposed to become a man. It's funny though, everyone I think that's the memories they're prouder of than others right? Abe maybe that's why change is so scary because the things we wish we could leave behind. The whispers we we wish we could silence, the nightmares we most want to wake up from, the memories we wish we could change. Secrets we feel like we have to keep are the hardest to walk away from. The good stuff, the pictures in our mind that fade away the fastest. Those pieces of you it feels the easiest to lose, maybe I don't want to forget. Maybe if that's what today is all about forget it right?" Stanley says.

"Thank you Stanley." His father said trying to reach and take the microphone away from him but Stanley moves away from his fathers reach.

"Uh.... Today I'm supposed to become a man but I don't I don't feel any different I-I- I know I'm a loser and no matter what I alway fucking will be." Stanley says before dropping the mic and his father catches it by the wire. Everyone gasps as Lydia and Richie both have smiles on their faces. Richie and Lydia stand up and start clapping for Stanley only for some old lady to pull us down. Lydia gave her a glare before looking forward. Stanley walked out.

Richie and Lydia walk out to find Stanley. We find him. He looked nervous, probably on what his father would say.

"Hey guys... thanks for coming." He says giving us a weak smile.

"Hey and no problem, your speech was badass!" Lydia says smiling. Stanley smiles at her.

"Jeez already? You two couldn't have told your flirting till later on!?" Richie teases as Lydia kicks his ankle.

"Shut it Richie." Lydia glared at Richie.

"My dad is going to kill me..." Stanley says.

"Don't worry Stan the man I'm sure you'll make another badass speech to him." Richie tried to joke with a British accent but it was stupid.

"Shit joke." Lydia said. Richie jokingly looked offended and that made Lydia giggle.

"Well if Stanley doesn't get grounded, do you two want to go to the arcade next week?" Lydia asked.

"Hell yeah!" Richie said as Stanley nodded.

"Sure. Let's just hope my father decides not to ground me." Stanley says.

Lydia and Richie nodded.

"You two probably should go. I have a feeling my father will come shout at me." Stanley said.

"Yeah alright Stan the man." Richie said giving him a gently punch to the shoulder. Lydia chuckled. She gave Stanley a hug, he of course hugged her back as Richie smirked at them.

"OoOoOh Stanley and Lydia no need to-" Richie said before getting kicked in the shins by Lydia, who had pulled away from her hug with Stanley.

"Next time you say something like that, I won't be kicking your leg." Lydia said as Richie chuckled.

"Yeah, yeah." Richie said before waving at Stanley and dragging Lydia out of the room by holding her wrist. Lydia stumbled backwards as she waved at Stanley as the door slowly closed.

"I know you like Stan." Richie said drinking a milkshake he has gotten at the ice cream shop down the town where him and Lydia were walking. Lydia chocked on her milkshake as she stopped to look at Richie. She coughed.

"W-What!? N-No I don't!" Lydia said

"You're stuttering! When you stutter you lie!" Richie says.

"Whatever." Lydia says.

"So you DO like him!" Richie said being amused.

"Maybe I do maybe I don't." Lydia said.

"Lydia! Yes or no!?" Richie says.

"Yes..." Lydia admitted. Richie laughed.

"HA! I fucking knew it!" Richie says.

"Do not say a fucking word to him! Got it?" Lydia said making Richie nod.

"Relax Liddy, you're secret is safe with me." Richie smirks. Lydia rolls her eyes playfully.

"Thanks." She says. Lydia looks at her watch.

"Do you think Stanley will make it to the arcade?" Lydia asked.

"Nope. He's a dead man." Richie says.

"His dad is such an asshole, from what I hear." Lydia says as Richie nods in agreement.

"Yep. Poor Stanley has to live with that man." We are lucky our parents are cool. Lydia nodded.

"Well my dad hasn't been around much after my brothers disappearance. He makes stupid excuses why he hasn't been around." Lydia said.

"I'm sorry." Richie says. Lydia looks at him.

"It's nothing to worry about. He'll probably come back and act normal again." Lydia said. Richie nodded.

"You know, Eddie's mom is strict." Richie says.

"Yeah. She's strict but fucking rude. What she said to Bev was uncalled for." Lydia said.

"And what she said to you." Richie said Lydia looked at him.

"It doesn't bother me, much..." Lydia said. Richie looked at her. She gave him a reassuring smile.

"She's such a bitch." Lydia said and Richie giggled which made Lydia laugh.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Do you ever miss the others?" Lydia asked Richie.
"I don't know." Richie said.
"Same. I see Beverly sometimes, but she just looks at me, probably because I only look at her." Lydia says. Richie nodded.
It was getting later, Lydia's mom wanted her home before 07:30pm because of the curfew. Lydia sighed and looked at her watch.
"It's twenty past seven. I better get home before my mom worries. See you later Richie." Lydia said giving him a slight and gently punch to the shoulder. Richie chuckled.
"See you later." Richie said as the two went there separate ways.
