ITS EERIE HOW life works. you look out for danger, and when you're sure you're safe, someone falls off the deep end or you end up protecting yourself from the wrong things. a dark entity destined to fall onto anyone it spots.
but it's all about timing. although the thing is, you don't actually know when something's gonna happen.
lucianna woke up unusually early, and coincidentally enough, ethan did too. the light was bright, peeking through the curtains inside.
he knocked on her door before walking in.
"wakey, wakey. how are you? want to have a guess on what today is?" ethan grinned as she sat up on her bed confused. "i think monday, why exactly?"
"no, today is the day..." he paused, drumming his fingers on the door frame theatrically. "...we go back to mystic falls."
luci perked up in an instance. it's been a few months since she left her home, and its been a few months she's stayed in a distant town. but finally, luci was coming back home.
"oh gosh really?! does this mean i don't have to be in hiding from whoever wants to kill me?"
"as far as i know, the coast is clear."
"oh crap...i need to pack like right now!"

LUCI SKIPPED OVER the porch stairs with her suit case in her hands, it has been a while she wanted to drive past the 'welcome to mystic falls' sign and nothing was going to ruin her that.
she hoped that as they arrive in mystic falls, all her worries, all her fears that something might happen to her loved ones because she wasn't there to look out for them would fade away instantly.
whatever weighted her heart down, had to lighten.
"ready?" ethan interrupted her dazed state with a cheesy grin. ethan made sure that she was happy while in hiding, but deep down, he knew how much longing luci felt for her home, her family. so he was going to make sure nothing ruined her return.
"more than ever."

A FEW HOURS later, a few 'are we there yets' later and alot of coffee, the two finally drove past the mystic falls sign. and luci breathed out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
