watching still living roots be consumed by the flame

A PERSON CHANGES, with time. it's nature, that's how life is shaped to be.

but the only thing darker than the night itself, is knowing nothing about one's change. like living life with a blindfold on, not ready to face the light just yet.

but light is the truth, and truth is always the darkness. so is it better living life with your eyes closed?

luci read that in an abandoned book she'd found, weirdly enough, it was found from underneath her bed. untouched, dusty with time.

luci thought the mindful thing to do was to bring it to the library, maybe she borrowed it and forgot that she did.

but there was an invisible string from the book and throughout her heart. like a physical pull.

she could have sworn she saw that book before, but luci never knew it ever existed.

luci sighed deeply, sitting down on her bed.

flashes of yesterday showcased in her mind like it was today. she shuddered at the vision.

at the way luci felt when she crushed katherine's bones, or when she threatened to break damon's;

how could she act that way? so mindlessly. and she knew, but her soul stayed hidden.

pure abhorrence beneath her skin. she wanted nothing but to burst the last of them into bits and flames.

but luci wouldn't do that. luci loved. and she would teach anyone to love, she's so full of it.

she would rip her flesh off for those who need it, and still be considered selfish for not giving her bones.

LUCI PROMISED TO come by caroline's house, to help make a daylight ring for her.

bonnie refused to help, she still couldn't get over the fact that caroline was one of the undead creatures she truly despised.

nature's greatest shame, an abomination.

but luci stayed true to her best friend, even when an obscene magical entity. she still loved her, always and forever.
