((A/N: My apologies for the long absence again, August was my little sister's bday and I had mine as well last month and I've been working and doing stuff with my family and my (new) partner. I've been pretty tired but I really want to finish this story before I loose my audience/ views. 😭))

How could they have figured it out when I made sure to keep it hidden?

Star stares frustratingly at her phone screen as she turns off her car.

She had planted a chip under one of the men's shoes after her encounter with Kokonoi.

And the chip is only supposed to last until they rub their foot against something rough, like a floor mat for example.

She tracked it down and went to go where the chip has been planted, hoping that it would take her to their hideout.

Only to find out that it had been removed and placed at the bottom of a bridge.

I guess they are alot smarter than I thought...

God dammit..

And here I thought I'm just dealing with a bunch of punks...

She sighs and walks back to her car to start the engine.

She pulls out of the hidden road to drive herself back to the city.

The whole car ride was silent except for the news that plays on the radio.

And as usual, the number of crimes increases and its all because of some gang that the detectives are too afraid to discover.

Star turns off the car after parking her car in her spot then walk back inside the police station.

It was around 11 pm so there aren't many people working.

But still..

There's always people getting in your business..

"You're still here detective?"

Star- "Any reason why I shouldn't?"

She says as she rolls her eyes a bit.

"We just thought you had turned in for the night, that's all.."

Star- "I would be...But I have too much work to do.."

She says as she prepares to walk past them.

"Would you like some coffee detective?"

Star's shuts her eyes a bit to try and rub the sleep off them.

Star- "Its fine, I can get it myself.."

"If you say so, just let us know if you need anything."

Star- "Sure..."

She walks past the double doors to access the main offices then pulls out her keys to unlock her door.

Locking it again once she is fully in.

Ugh...How much longer before I can actually rest?...

She tells herself as she tosses her keys onto her desk then goes to remove her coat.
