Chapter 40

Rindou had been getting stitched and bandaged for the past half an hour and already he is completely over it.

The doctor had told him that he only got flesh wounds from the bullets that struck him so the procedure was quick and easy.

But Rindou could barely keep his leg still as they fixed him up.

Rindou wanted the doctor to just work on him without any local anesthetic so he would be more comfortable when he lays down but Ran told the doctor to give it to him anyways.

"You'll thank me later."

Ran tells Rindou after he gives him a threatening glare while the doctor administer the anesthetic around his wounds.

The anesthetic kicked in almost immediately and the doctor starts removing the bullets out of his body before he cleans and stitches him back up.

Usually they would get all of their medical treatment done in their hideout but considering the situation, he had no choice but to let the hospital tend to his wounds.

"Okay, that should do it, but we will keep you overnight for observation, just to make sure that you don't get a fever or any kind of reaction overnight.

"Sure..."

The doctor bows his head before stepping out of the room as well as the nurses.

Rindou takes a look at the bandages that are on him and scoffs.

If it were up to him, he would just walk out of the hospital and just drive himself back home.

But he didn't come alone.

And Ran would make sure he doesn't.

So of course he chooses to stay.

"Shit..."

Rindou swears after he finally gets himself comfortable on the hospital bed.

He lays his head back on the pillow as he takes deep breaths.

Hoping that the anesthetic doesn't wear off anytime soon.

"I swear, I wasn't in this much pain before the doctor started working on me.."

He says to himself as he relives the procedure that got done to him just moments ago.

He's not sure why this time just feels different.

He's gotten bullets removed and stitched up plenty of times but this just felt excruciating.

But why is that?

It was nothing out of the ordinary in his part.

He's basically a regular at this hospital so nothing is different.

Until he thinks about it and realizes..

It is different...

"DING DONG!"

Rindou flinches when Ran suddenly walks into the room.

Ran- "I brought the STUFF!!"

He shouts as he places the grocery bag on the bed besides Rindou.

Who glares at him for nearly giving him a heart attack.

Ran- "What's that look for??"

Rindou- "Ran, what the fuck??"

Ran- "With what?"

Rindou- "You almost gave me a fucking heart attack.."

Ran- "What? I told you I would be right back.."
