Prisha stood in the doorway, eyes wide in shock, her chest rising and falling as she tried to make sense of what she was seeing.

Tears filled her eyes, shining in the soft light, and her hand gripped the doorframe as if it was the only thing holding her up.

Mahi didn't react. His expression remained unchanged, his eyes still dark with the intensity of the moment he'd just shared with Virat. There was no hint of guilt or regret in his gaze as he looked at her.

He didn't flinch or pull away from Virat who still remained close.. their bodies nearly touching. Mahi's gaze was steady unyielding as he faced Prisha and in that moment.. it was clear that there was no place for sympathy in his heart.

"What.. what is this?" she finally managed to choke out her voice thick with anguish. "Mahi.. how could you" Her voice broke the pain evident in every syllable.

Mahi's hand slipping away from Virat's waist. His eyes locked onto Prisha's caught between the intensity of what had just happened and the reality of the situation crashing down around him.

Virat stepped back slightly putting some distance between himself and Mahi.

Virat's eyes flicked between Mahi and Prisha struggling to grasp the situation. The warmth he'd shared with Mahi now felt fragile.. overshadowed by the emotional storm before him.

Prisha shook her head, her tears flowing freely now. "I trusted you Mahi.. I love you.. and you. How could you cheat on me?" Her voice broke and she pressed a hand to her mouth as if trying to hold back a sob.

Mahi's jaw tightened "I never cheated on you Prisha" Mahi replied with an almost cold voice. "Because I never had anything to cheat on.. there was nothing between us and there never will be."

Prisha sobbed "but.. we.. we are supposed to be together. We were going to announce our engagement Mahi.. how can you say there's nothing?"

Mahi took a step forward his gaze softening slightly "you convinced yourself of something that was never real. I'm sorry you're hurt but I won't lie to you or to myself. My feelings.. they were never for you."

Prisha's voice quivered her desperation evident. "Is it him? Is it Virat.. you're choosing him over me?"

Mahi didn't hesitate "I'm choosing what's true. I'm choosing what I can't pretend any longer."

The room was silent except for the sound of Prisha's sobs. Mahi didn't reach out to comfort her.. didn't offer her any empty reassurances. He couldn't.. he wouldn't.. because it would only perpetuate the lie she was living.

Prisha's footsteps echoed in the hallway as she ran her vision blurred by tears that streamed uncontrollably down her cheeks. Her heart pounded in her chest.. the image of Mahi and Virat locked in that intense passionate kiss replaying in her mind, each memory sharper than the last.

Seeing Prisha's distressed state Goel excused himself from the conversation his expression turning serious as he approached her. "Darling" he said his voice laced with concern. "I asked you to find Mahi.. It's time to announce your engagement with him."

Prisha's sobs came in ragged bursts as she clutched at his arm.. her grip trembling "dad!!!!!"

Goel's brow furrowed in worry he guided Prisha away from the main gathering, leading her to a quiet corner of the venue where they were less likely to be seen.
