The cool October breeze drifted through the windows of Mahi's house in Ranchi but inside, the atmosphere was tense, heavy with the weight of their conversation.

Mahi sat on the couch, his gaze was sharp his expression unreadable as he listened intently.

Beside him! Subroto leaned forward the file he'd brought resting on his lap fingers absentmindedly tapping on it, reflecting his own restlessness.

On the opposite end of the couch sat Chintu, quiet yet alert.. his face marked by curiosity and concern.

Subroto took a deep breath before speaking, his voice low but steady. "Goel's grasp on power is slipping. He's already sold half of his property to ministers.. desperate to regain his status."

He opened the file and sifted through a few documents, his brow furrowing. "He’s managed to get support from the local associations and a handful of ministers. They’re keeping him afloat trying to help him claw his way back. But with the evidence piling up against him, it’s only a matter of time."

Mahi’s jaw tightened, a hint of frustration in his eyes. "No matter who’s backing him or standing with him... I know Goel will slip up in his desperation."

His gaze sharpened and became intense. "What we need is undeniable evidence.. something that leaves him with no way out, no loopholes to take advantage of."

Subroto nodded, though his expression was doubtful. "We've been gathering everything we can, but he's also careful.. too careful. Every lead we’ve followed has hit a wall, every witness suddenly unwilling to talk. It’s as if he’s anticipated our every move."

Chintu who had been silent, finally spoke up. "So what do we do now? Just sit back and wait for him to slip?"

Mahi’s lips pressed into a thin line, his eyes narrowing with renewed determination. "No.. we keep pushing. Guys like Goel always have weakness, secrets they wouldn’t even share with their most trusted people. And once we expose that." He looked pointedly at Subroto, his voice laced with a quiet assurance "that’s when he’ll have nowhere left to turn."

The tension in the room mounted as Chintu tapped his foot rapidly, his brow knitted in frustration.

"We’re just running in circles here! Every time we get close, he slips right through our fingers. How long are we supposed to keep this up?" his voice carried an unusual sharpness, revealing both his irritation and concern.

Before Mahi could respond, Subroto's phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen, his expression darkening as he answered. "Yes?" he said, his tone cautious.

A muffled voice came through on the other end, hurried and urgent. Subroto listened, his expression growing grim.

A close associate of Goel, secretly playing as a double agent, was passing information to Subroto.

However.. this time, the message carried a tone of urgency. The man warned that Goel’s patience was running out and he was prepared to take extreme measures to eliminate Mahi as an obstacle. Though the specifics were unclear, the threat was serious and imminent.
