Two days later in Ranchi!!

The large hospital in Ranchi felt unusually quiet, despite the tension filling the room as Mahi and Chintu sat across from Dr. Prashant.

Mahi's jaw tightened while he listened to the doctor's calm refusal, his hands firmly resting on the desk, fingers slowly curling into fists.

"Look, I've told you before" Dr. Prashant said with a slight shrug, his gaze shifting between Mahi and Chintu. "I can't release those reports to you without proper authorization. It's out of my hands."

Chintu sat next to Mahi, his frustration palpable as he glared at Dr. Prashant. "Not in your hands? we've been at this for days!" Chintu's voice was low but brimming with anger. "You're withholding information that could resolve everything. We're talking about crucial details here and you're just refusing to help us. Why can't you just.."

Mahi calm Chintu but his gaze remained sharp and intense, a storm brewing beneath his composed exterior.

Mahi's voice was calm, but the tension was unmistakable. "We need those reports and we know you can make it happen." He drummed his fingers lightly on the table, leaning forward.

The doctor sighed, shuffling papers and avoiding Mahi's piercing gaze. "Even if I wanted to.. it's not that simple. You'll need to go through the hospital's legal channels. There's nothing more I can do."

Mahi's lips pressed into a thin line. "We'll be back" he said quietly, with a determined edge. His gaze lingered on the doctor for a moment longer before he turned and led Chintu out of the office.

Stepping into the humid afternoon air, Chintu exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. "This guy's not going to budge Mahi. What are we going to do now".

Mahi's eyes narrowed as he stared down the street, his body tense with frustration. "We'll have to find another way" he said, more to himself than to Chintu. "There has to be a way around this. We can't let this stop us."

The sprawling villa in Ranchi was adorned with delicate decorations, the scent of fresh marigolds filling the air. Goel stood at the entrance, his sharp eyes scanning the preparations with a hint of satisfaction.

He had swiftly arranged a small and intimate gathering for Mahi and Prisha's engagement close family and a few trusted friends, simple yet meticulously planned, giving the event a quiet sense of importance.

Goel's assistant approached with a clipboard in hand, detailing the final guest list. "We've sent personal planes to pick up Mr. Ganguly and Rahul Sir. Yuvraj Sir and Suresh Sir are also confirmed along with Mr. Kohli."

Goel's face lit up slightly at the mention of Virat. "Good.. it wouldn't be right without him here. Mahi and Virat have a bond. It's important he's there for this."

The assistant nodded and continued checking off items from the list, but Goel's mind wandered. He reflected on the short notice, the rush of it all and the subtle tension around Mahi and Prisha finally getting engaged after so many years.

Deep down Goel knew he was pushing Mahi into this but he convinced himself it was for the best this was the right step, the necessary step.. even if Mahi wasn't fully on board.

He turned his attention back to the villa as the final touches were being placed. Tomorrow would be perfect.
