"You need a husband, Y/n."
"A husband?"
"Well, you aren't getting any younger. It won't be too long until you find yourself cold and alone."
Y/n rolled her eyes as she carried a few books throughout the library, "you tell me that every year, so please do share your infinite wisdom of getting a man," y/n teased.
Her friend who worked in the library with her, gave y/n a little huff, "well for starters .. a lot of young women marry a nice young man in the fatui. The pay is good, and they are sure to take care of you."
"Oh, yes," y/n said dryly, "the fatui."
"Whats with that tone?"
"I know the fatui are on our side since we are the whole region of Snezhnaya and all. But .. even the fatui hurt their own people."
"Please y/n, those Snezhnayan people that got hurt or killed by the fatui were either traitors or criminals."
"Right..," y/n said with a sigh.
Rinrika smiled at y/n as she set the stack of books down. Her arms immediately wrapping around the girl's shoulders, "listen. The fatui are holding a celebration tonight and I think you should come with me. You may even find yourself a dashing young man that will take good care of you."
"I don't know..."
"Come on, y/n! It'll be fun!"
What y/n considered to be fun was reading a good book by the fire place or by the windowsill. Not parties.
"Please? At least keep me company. I don't want to go alone."
"Save it, when we get there you'll probably attach yourself to the nearest single man."
Rinrika giggled as she nestled her chin into y/n's shoulder, "how about this? Once I find a man to take care of me for the rest of the night, you can head on home."
"In the night? Alone?"
"Which is where you should ask a gentleman to walk you home too~"
Y/n rolled her eyes.
Truth be told, she didn't feel comfortable with letting her friend go alone and be dragged off by some drunken soldier.
So .. she might as well go watch after her.
"Alright, fine. But I'm only going because I want you to be safe."
"Yay!"
