It was eight on the dot.

And just as she fixed herself up and made sure she looked presentable, a knock on the door brought her to reality.

I wonder if it was too late to back out.

She shook her head.

Even if she wanted to, she didn't want to get on Capitano's bad side and she definitely didn't want to know what he had in store for her if she decided to just ditch him.

"And you want me to go to such a formal occasion?"

She asked this nervously. Her hands twiddling in front of herself as she didn't know what to do with them. Oh, if only she had pockets!

"Indeed, you had asked me to think of something I can have you do to repay me. Your company to this reception will do just fine."

"But why this? Surely there is something else-"

"You will listen to me, y/n. It was you who offered to give me something and all I ask is for your company. Is that so much to ask? Or...," he got closer to her and bent down a little, "or maybe you want me to have you do something else?"

She could feel her body grow hot at the memory. A weird feeling welling up inside her. She decided to push it aside however when she went to greet Capitano at the front door.

"Y/n."

"Capitano," she greeted with a nervous smile.

He held out his hand to her. Her arm reaching out as her shaky fingers fitted into his palm.

"Shall we go?"

He may have phrased it like a question, but she knew she didn't exactly have a choice in the matter.

"Yes, please. I mean, I'm as ready as I'll ever be."

She really couldn't hide how nervous she was as he pulled her out of her doorway and closed the door behind her. A soft click sounding behind her.

The cold nipped at her as her coat covering her wasn't exactly helping. Though, when Capitano pulled her close and blocked some of the wind and snow, she had to admit that the heat he radiated soothed her.

"See this as just a going out with friends."

"I'll try..."

She didn't really go out much was the problem.

"And .. I'll be there by your side. Fear and nerves should be far from your mind."

Well, maybe she did feel a little bit better about going..
