The first few days went by slowly. He would disappear in the morning and then make surprise appearances throughout the day before settling in once night fell.

She didn't know his schedule at all.

When would he come back? Did he actually leave? What if he was waiting outside for her? Waiting to see what she would do if given the chance to run.

She, of course, tried to adapt instead. Tried her best to think of the good things, the bad, and the not so great. She still gets to eat whatever she wants, gets to read, gets to bathe and take care of herself. She can still wear whatever she wants to. She can sleep in however long she desires. He doesn't force himself on her. She gets her own room. Sure she has to engage in conversation with him at times, but he wasn't much of a talker to begin with which she found that she was actually quite grateful for.

Then, there are the downsides.

She was trapped somewhere far deep into Snezhnaya's wilderness. Her clothes may be comfy but are not suited for going outside. If she did try to run, then she would surely freeze to death in a matter of seconds. She wouldn't get to see her friends, her family, or even be surrounded by the books at her job in the library. And her only company was with a harbinger who would probably kill her if he gets bored or "falls out of love."

And finally, the not so great.

It was obvious in the ways that he would get close to her. He was expecting for things between them to go further. Which shouldn't be surprising. He did bring her here after all. However, she never shared herself with anyone. Not a single soul, and she really didn't want to share herself with her kidnapper...

"Y/n."

There was a soft knocking on her bedroom door. Her hands immediately gripped the blankets as she huddled deep into the comforter of her bed.

"Come in."

Her voice was light. She tried to sound as nice and carefree as possible.

In the past few days she had learned, carefully so, that he was in a better mood if she didn't show any hostility towards him.

"Will you come to the living room to talk?"

She bit her lip, her gaze set on her blankets, "I don't see why we can't just talk in here."

She tried to sound as polite as possible. If he so wished, then he could just grab her by her hair and drag her to the living room. But he wouldn't do that... right?

Maybe I should just go to the living room after all.

"So be it."

He walked closer to her causing her to shrink beneath his masked gaze.

"We will be having visitors tomorrow," he said simply when he sat on the edge of her bed.

"Visitors-"

Her eyes grew hopeful, a spark lighting within them. But the light was soon dashed out when he reached to her and hooked his fingers around her jaw and yanked her forward a bit.

"Don't get hopeful, our visitors will be two harbingers, and for your information ... they are already aware of your circumstances and that I'm keeping you here."

She tried to pull away but hus grip was firm. Tight.

"They do not care for you or what I'm doing with you. They hold no sympathy or care. Even if you would ask for their help, they would merely laugh at you and belittle you for getting caught in the first place. Understand?"

Her lips trembled as she nodded.

"Use your words."

She could feel her jaw start to bruise.

"I understand!"

She yelped when be finally let her go. His hand reaching for her again as she flinched away, but was instead met with his gloved fingers tracing her cheek.

"Next time, I want those eyes of your to shine when they see me ... but I know that I have to earn that look. So for now... don't you dare ever gain such a false hope again. No one in Teyvat will ever save you."
