"You've got to be kidding me," she muttered to herself.
The next day rolled around quickly. She had made the careful decision to take a day off and promised a confused Rinrika that she would share the details later.
"I don't have anything to wear!"
She thought she had at least one good dress to put on, but nothing screamed at her as "formal."
There were, of course, "those" dresses but that type of clothing was meant for her .. second job.
"I can't believe I don't have anything for this-"
A knock at her front door made her break out of her troubled ramblings. Sighing, she hoped off her bed and made her way out of her room and down the hall.
Another impatient knock.
"I'm coming! Just a minute!"
She made sure she was decent and then opened the door.
"Uhh... hi?"
"Miss Y/n, I presume?"
"Yes?"
She scanned him over, he looked familiar but couldn't quite place his face.
"Here, this dress is for the reception tonight. Capitano feared that you wouldn't have anything to wear so he asked me to find something for you since he wasn't up to date on women's fashion. Not that I know anything good about what women like to wear. However, I do know how to spot a formal dress for someone."
The man held out a box to which y/n took without question.
The last thing she needed was rejecting the dress and having Capitano come down here and forcing her to wear it.
"Thank you very much."
"Oh. And before I forget, he's picking you up at eight. He wanted me to remind you of that."
"Right, tonight at eight."
It was seven thirty.
"Thanks again."
"Of course, miss y/n. And I can't wait to formally meet you later."
The man gave a slight bow and she wondered if he would be at the reception as well.
Shaking her head, she closed the door.
"Enough of that y/n, just focus on getting ready."
