Y/n heard a door slam but didn't dare to leave the confines of her room. She knew better than to make Capitano angry. To make a harbinger angry. Someone who could easily snap her in two if he so wished.
Then, she heard loud footsteps walking down the hall. Her whole form scrunched up as she focused on her food as she sat at her desk. Her eyes glancing towards the door.
And, as expected, there was a soft knocking at her door. And, as expected, she still jumped in surprise.
"Come in," she managed to answer.
The door creaked open as Capitano walked in. His gaze landing on her as he watched her put down her silverware and give him her full attention.
"Apologies for any commotion you may have heard. Our guests had to leave early."
She nodded. she was curious at their abrupt departure. A part of her even wanted to ask. But she thought it best to keep her mouth shut for the time being.
"And y/n.."
"Yes?"
"Just so you know..I wouldn't sell you or give you away as a test subject."
She felt her heart skip a beat, if only for a moment.
"I-"
She didn't know what to say. Should she thank him? Should she be grateful? She found herself at a loss for words.
"When you're done eating, you can return your dishes to the kitchen. I, myself, will be returning to my quarters. Sleep well, y/n."
"Same to you," she said as soon as he left while closing the door behind him.
Thus concluded another day within the confines of this house...
