"Ah, wait!" Aiden called after her, and then there was just silence. What was happening. What was-

I peeked around the railing, to see Aiden standing in front of Ashlyn, hand gently on her head. "...I'm sorry, Ashlyn."

Tyler pulled me back to my spot, and I pulled away. "I'm going to go use the restroom," I whispered. The last words I heard from Aiden were, "I didn't think me getting hurt meant you would too."

Some stupid ass bullshit.

I sat in a closed bathroom stall, crouched on a toilet (of course, I ignored the pain in my upper back as it was bent). This was dumb. Why did I react like that? Why did I get jealous? He was just touching her head! And she was just... not stopping him. Not a big deal.

She still finds him annoying.

But I couldn't help but think... maybe they have something going. Maybe Aiden likes her and she likes him. Maybe... just maybe... I was dreaming of something that couldn't ever happen. I'm just in their way of becoming something.

I mean, he's really pushy and touchy with her. Ashlyn is starting to not care. She's... yeah.

"Heh."

I held my head in my hands, letting out a small chuckle, watching as water dripped from my eyes and splattered onto the tile below me.

"Maybe I'm just an inconvenience."

Everyone sat in the living room of Ashlyn's house. Well, I was laying on the ground, wrapped like a burrito in a thick blanket. Everyone looked devastated, apart from Aiden who was eating cookies next to Ashlyn.

Every time I look at them next to each other, I just feel my face twisting into a scowl (which stung a lot). Well, I guess I've found a way to smile instead (which hurt more of course). I don't even want to begin knowing how Aiden is always smiling.

Maybe because his hair is really soft.

Huh? I mean, it is, but why would that be the first thing that comes into your mind?

"I'm pretty sure I failed that midterm," Taylor groaned, head in her hands.

"Honestly, same," I muttered, face stinging from moving it. "It was hard when Mr. Thomas was staring at me fifty percent of the time."

I don't think they heard the last part.

"Oh yeah, my parents are coming back tomorrow," Aiden said around a cookie. I laughed a bit at the sight, making him grin at me around the cookie.

"Really?" Taylor asked.

Aiden took the cookie out of his mouth after taking a bite. "Yeah, along with Ben's family. It'll be his little sister's birthday in a week, I think."

Ben nodded.

"Oh, they're coming back?" Mike asked from the hall, a basket of laundry in his hands. "They never told me."

Ashlyn lifted her head from her knees. "You talk to them?"

"Yeah, a bit, to give them updates on how Aiden and Ben are doing," Mike set the basket on the coffee table. "Hmm... should we have a BBQ?"

"...what?" Ashlyn asked, obviously not that excited with the idea.

"It'll be a rare chance for all of us parents to get together, y'know? We could have a big BBQ in the graveyard and also celebrate Ben's sister's birthday- if they don't already have plans."

"Sure! We can ask!" Aiden grinned, excited.

"What about you, triplets? Logan?"

"I'm sure my grandparents would like to come. They're big BBQ fans themselves," Logan smiled.

Ah, he's gotten better at not stuttering. Must be getting used to us... I think. I dunno. People are confusing.

I looked at Tyler worriedly from my place on the ground, and Taylor just kept a smile on her face. I smiled at Mike. My face stung from the effort. "Yeah, we'll ask!"

"Great!" Mike looked down at his watch. "Oh! You kids should probably leave soon, it's already almost 5."

"Ah right..." Ashlyn said.
