Alex nodded, pulled out his tablet, and clicked through some pictures. "The camera for your room is still working, but the cameras for the others malfunctioned at the same time you were infected. This was the last shot that the cameras captured before crashing..."
I groaned in pain as I sat up, and peeked at the tablet. Everyone had a book in their hand, which I knew was the ASL book. But, in particular... they're all facing the same direction I was in.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I raised an eyebrow, and he turned off the tablet and continued. "Well, when I went to go check on everyone, they all somehow knew something had happened. I explained to everyone what happened with you, Ashlyn, and the infected. Short story short, none of them were pleased. Though, I did inform them that both of you were unharmed... for the most part. But what I'm getting at is the same thing I told them. I want to help somehow."
I hesitated, but then remembered when he was yelling at the others and had to be led out. Maybe we could trust him?
"I noticed that you kids stopped asking to see each other, and that you all also asked for ASL books at the same time," Alex said slowly, as if not to freak me out or something. I clenched the sheets a bit, wincing at the movement. "You have some way of communication... right?"

As the night progressed, I became more restless. The pain in my movements had been slowly going away, probably because I was pacing around my room despite the aching.
Suddenly, I felt a bit dizzy and sat on my bed, ending in me rendering unconscious.
SHIFT
I sat on the bed, where we had all ended up on the last shift. I rubbed my eyes, exhausted and stood up to stretch, ignoring the pain it caused.
I still had the makeshift cast on, which was a bit uncomfortable, but it was fine.
